iPod Home: More iPod Satellite Rumors

iPod Radio - The iPod Satellite Rumor Continues
Rumors are still floating around about the iPod Satellite, but this one comes from a different angle (yes, even more different than the XM SkyPod). Apparently this new iPod Satellite won't be a portable unit, but instead - a Tabletop unit.

MacOS Rumors reports that this new iPod Satellite variant is "...designed to act as a complete 5.1 Digital Surround Sound home audio system with Sirius Satellite Radio support, a full-size 3.5-inch desktop hard drive with 120GB or more of storage, and IEEE 802.11n (108Mbps vs Airport Extreme's 54Mbps, plus several other major new features) high-speed wireless networking support."

Labeled as the iPod Home, or iPod Radio (depending on who you ask) they're stating a timeframe of September or October.

Pretty cool. This supports the theory that the Sirius chipset currently won't support an iPod-sized portable unit. But with Sirius devices getting smaller, and 3G looming in the distance, who knows?

Thanks Peter!
