XM Acquires Effanel Music

XM Satellite Radio just announced it has acquired Effanel Music Inc. Effanel Music are leading live music, remote and mobile recording specialists. They've developed a sterling reputation for delivering high-quality live broadcasts and recordings for major television networks, record labels and A-list talent. Ranging from large-scale, multi-artist concerts and festivals (like The Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards, U2, Madonna, The Dave Matthews Band, Santana, The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, to name a few) to intimate club performances, to multi-channel post-production work.
With Effanel, XM now has a built-in mobile recording and broadcast division that enables them to air live music, sports and entertainment events from anywhere in the world in 100% pure digital sound.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

I have to say XM seems to be making a lot of good news lately. I think it would be really cool if XM would broadcast all the big events and everything live and uncut. Which I guess this aquistion helps them do. I do plan to switch to Sirius for Howard but I have been really liking XM lately and just might not switch. I'm just holding out for news on the Rego and all the new 3g devices.

Yeah, it does look like they're putting all that money in the bank to good use.
Sirius will have 3G devices out mid-year and XM will probably have 4G devices out around the same time (pure speculation).
Expect to see exciting stuff from both! 2005 is gonna be a fun year..
