Pioneer AirWare XM2go Portable XM Satellite Radio
We've been anxious to find out exactly when the upcoming Pioneer AirWare XM2go portable satellite radio receiver will be available in-stores. And we just got that juicey info we've been yearning to hear...

*drum roll please*

The AirWare will be available in.... May! The Pioneer AirWare is available for sale NOW

That's all we know so far. When I get a specific date, trust me, you'll all find out as well.

Hows this an improvment on the Myfi besides the look?

beautiful!!

as far as I know, there are no improvements...

The Pioneer AirWare will essentially be the same innards as the MyFi. It's based on what XM is calling the "XM2go" platform which all share the same technology, but have a different form factor (look and feel).

But while the basic insides are the same platform, there will be some slight differences between all the xm2go products: the AirWare seems somewhat smaller, and the Tao XM2go unit, to be released in late summer, is more of a "sport" package with a rugged exterior (I've heard of it being dropped tested from 8 feet).

My hope is to take all three xm2go units apart and publish photos for all to see exactly how they vary.

Anything is an improvement over the MYFi's cheap case. Dust seems to get inside the unit and sticks to the display, and the plastic is just cheap and shiny feeling.
