All smiles over at XM
Here’s a great shot of XM president and CEO Hugh Panero taken this morning in front of the NBC Jumbotron at Times Square in New York City.
Check out the uber-version here.

XM has that many subscribers because once you sign up and pay for a subscription, XM makes it nearly impossible to cancel ~ I have been waiting for a refund for over 30 days and my bank is now dealing with them to try to get my money refunded... I will never do business with this company again ~ EVER!

why doesnt Sirius just tell XM to buy them out already? its obvious that Sirius = Beta while XM = VHS and this is not gonna end pretty.
how funny would it be if XM bought out Sirius before the end of the year and told Howard Stern "Thanks, but no thanks."

F.Y.I. if you initially activated your XM Radio account online and provided them your credit/check/debit card number, they will now automatically renew your subscription without your authorization ~ Beware!!! Read the service agreement very carefully!!!F.Y.I. if you initially activated your XM Radio account online and provided them your credit/check/debit card number, they will now automatically renew your subscription without your authorization ~ Beware!!! Panero screwed up big time by not raising guidance on year end subscriptions. He knows Sirius will kick XM's ass during the 4th quarter. Brighter future for Sirius and definitely more potential for growth. More OEM's with Ford kicking in, Chrysler increasing the number of cars with Sirius and Toyota port installed Sirius (for now, more later). Stern and NFL. It's looking good for Sirius content wise and share price wise.

Um, no. Let's stick to the facts.
XM gives pro-rated refunds and has no contract commitments. And you just tell them how frequently you when you sign up.
(Unlike that other satellite radio company, which uses contracts, early cancellation penalties, automatic renewals...)

XM is like GOOD and Sirius is like EVIL. Howard Stern is Satan and Opie is Jesus. Anthony is Moses

Um, YES! I gave the true facts! When I bought my 2004 Honda, I went online to activate my 3 month free trial subscription, signed up and paid in advance for a 12 month subscription and expected to renew or not in 15 months ~ in 2005 my checking account was automatically (unauthorized) charged for another 12 month subscription exactly 12 months after I first activated my XM radio! I have called XM several times to cancel and request that the money be returned to my checking account to no avail!

Where do you get your info from??? Sirius does not have a "contract" unless you are signing up through a promotion like the $50 rebate. And your beloved XM does the same!

"how funny would it be if XM bought out Sirius"
If you new anything about business you would realize SIRIUS is worth as of today $1.25 billion more than XM. Good luck pulling that deal off. Maybe SIRIUS should buy XM.
SIRIUS Market Cap: 7.25B
XM Market Cap: 6.00B

How fucking rediculous, Sirius is going under soon enough, you can't keep making these huge pay deals and stay afloat, it's just a matter of time.

(heh, that wasn't me)

Ford? They have been crying wolf for ever! Promises but no delivery. Sort of like Sirius -- at CES in 2004, they said video would arrive in 18 months. They have 2 more weeks.
Sirius kick XM in the 4th Q because of Howard and the NFL? Howard will bring in lots of subs, but millions? Not sure. NFL? A bust last year because there should have been a HUGE bump in subs in the 3rd and 4th quarters -- didn't happen. Will it happen this year? Maybe, but so far the NFL deal is not close to paying for itself. Will the Stern deal payoff? It will be YEARS before we know

I do enjoy reading these brain-washed O&A fan posts. Come on people! XM nor Sirius are going to fail. Coke has more customers than Pepsi but Pepsi is not going down anytime soon.

"Um, no. Let's stick to the facts..........."
OMG! It's no wonder you don't include your name on your post! I get my info from the XM Satellite Radio website you idiot! I also get my info from their crummy customer service call centers... I'm not even talking about Sirius ~ only XM Satellite Radio, because that's what I have... and for the last 2 months have been trying to cancel and get a refund ~ which I still do not have! There is nothing "beloved" about XM Satellite Radio in my opinion!
Just incase there is anybody else having trouble getting a refund or cancelling, here are a few of the facts in my case:
On 3/20/2004, I signed up and paid for one 12 month subscription on the XM Satellite Radio website, paid with a credit card in advance of receiving subscription service and I also activated my 3 month "free trial".
For the Anonymous poster's information, my XM Satellite Radio 12 month subscription was in fact automatically renewed ~ without my knowledge, without my authorization, and prior to my original subscription ending!
After I first called to cancel the automatic renewal and request a refund on 3/31/05, the XM Satellite Radio Subscriber Agreement on the XM Satellite Radio website was suspiciously updated on 4/5/05... Lucky for me my original 12 month subscription doesn't end until 6/20/05. It was 3 month free trial + the 12 months that I paid for, which = 15 months of service...
So, the XM Satellite Radio (new 4/5/2005) Subscriber Agreement is basically useless as far as XM Satellite Radio being able to keep my money. My (second 12 months) XM Satellite Radio account was automatically renewed and paid for before the second 12 months of service even started. Because I called to cancel prior to the next 12 months of service ever began.
So, according to XM Satellite Radio's new Subscriber Agreement of 4/5/2005, they owe me a full refund ~ not pro-rated!!!!! Not a refund of services; a refund of money!!!! XM Satellite Radio's silly new Subscriber Agreement won't work in their favor to keep the automatic renewal money that XM Satellite Radio stole from my account!!!! hahahahahaha!!!!
If you want more information, or "facts" post here and I will answer back.

{YAWN} Please go away. You long and boring posts are self centered and make me want to stab my eyes with a pencil. Of course Sirius and XM would have auto renewal. Otherwise you would be on here posting about how pissed you are that they cut your service off without renewing you. Oh, I just realized what you really want. You wanted XM to personally call you. Maybe they should. Who cares if the cost of a subscription would go up to $77 a month to cover the cost of the call center. Maybe I am exaggerating... I suppose they could keep it under $75 a month by moving the center to Somalia.
