Satellite Radio and iPod ... please God, make it stop.
Is this still news? I don’t get it, anytime there’s a shareholders conference someone will ask about the combination of Satellite Radio with the iPod (Zzzz), and everytime the question gets answered with “Well, we’re looking into it, but there’s no deal yet.”
And everytime the media freaks out about it and makes it a big deal. Which then sparks a storm of ridiculous speculation. Enough already.

It's good to know that there are still sane people on this planet. There will NOT be a Sirius in an iPod because of the simple fact that it will cannibalize iTunes sales. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. It also makes the migration path much easier when the next Sirius radio model comes out. The ONLY things that makes sense are either iTunes availability via a Sirius radio or a Sirius radio with a USB port to play an iPod or shuffle. Other than that it's a dumb idea that will NEVER happen.

The satellite companies know that only Apple will be able to make wearing an antenna on your head a fashion statement!

Here's what I imagine a Satellite / iPod relationship:
1. I hear a song on Satellite, and can click to buy through iTunes.
2. A Satellite receiver ADD ON that clips into the iPod.
3. Who cares.

I have a MyFi. I can already record songs and play them back. I can transfer them to my computer and onto an MP3 player. If you can record from sat, you may not buy the iTunes song.
As for Mel's statements, he says a great deal without saying anything. Don't hold your breath.

I like all of the speculation...It tells me that people are chomping at the bit for this type of product. I am sure that the manufacturers and marketing/engineering people are listening too. If and when it happens it will explode!
