Sony in talks with XM and SIRIUS
According to Reuters Sony Electronics said that it has had talks with both XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio about music devices, though no deals are signed (yet?).
Sony also said it hopes to add some spice to its Connect online music service (NOTE: link not Firefox compatable) by adding features, as they try to compete with Apple’s iPod and iTunes music service.
Sounds like an indicator that something big is on the horizon in terms of music services + satellite radio (cough cough Remora cough). Let’s see.

Just like Apple is in talks with them. However I have more hope for this. Sony is a little more desperate than Apple these days (at least when it comes to digital music).

Yeah, at first I saw this as a bit of "non-news news" but then the fact that *Sony* is bringing it up (as opposed to Sirius or XM) is a tell of some sort.
Sony might have something on the horizon and this is a bit of a PR flurry to get the buzz going.

Perhaps Sony is doing this to get Apple's attention. If Sony decides to make XM or Sirius units and incorporate it's own music site, will this open the door for the other to attract Apple? Interesting times ahead.

If Sony is really looking to penetrate the online music department, and SERIOUSLY compete with Apple - and is hoping on assistance from either XM or SIRIUS. Then there's three letters I can think of that would do that...
PSP.
If we can get satellite radio into the PSP, then we're talking!

I'd love to see a Sony styled Satellite Radio... most of their stuff has great design, and it would look great in my Home Theater, along with my car.
