Screenshot of Sirius XM iPhone app revealed

Sirius XM iPhone App
The first-ever official screenshot of the upcoming Sirius XM iPhone app was revealed today during Sirius XM Radio Inc. CEO Mel Karmazin's PowerPoint presentation at the shareholder summit.

View the presentation here.

The buttons on the bottom reveal that the Sirius XM iPhone app will have the ability to sort by category, channel, favorites - and there's a "Shopping" feature as well. There's also arrows next to each channel indicating more information is viewable per channel (hopefully it's something more akin to an electronic channel guide).

Little else is publicly known, aside from what we've already found out. But at least we get to finally see something official.

Zune HD coming this Fall, features built in HD Radio

Zune HDMicrosoft has finally come clean on the rumors of its new touch-screen Zune HD, set to go on sale this Fall. The new Zune is an attempt to take on the iPod Touch, but it's not the interface I'm interested in - it's the "HD" in the new Zune HD.

Nearly three years ago, the old-school Microsoft Zune touted a built-in FM radio - not exactly a feature that would make it an "iPod killer" (as history shows, the Zune barely made a dent in iPod sales), but it was a feature nonetheless. Including a radio tuner gave consumers the choice to listen to their own collection, or live content from over-the-air radio.

And now, the new Zune HD will include an "upgrade" to its featureset: built-in HD Radio.

Slacker sponsors Indy 500 racer "Pink Lloyd"

Pink Lloyd
Sirius XM Radio aren't the only ones involved with the Indy 500. Slacker Radio is sponsoring the top Indy 500 racer Alex "Pink" Lloyd - and in celebration they've created a special custom radio station to showcase his favorite music and personality.

Alex Lloyd is a rising star in Indy racing who's focused on winning the 2009 Indy 500, having qualified 11th in the middle of row four between Danica Patrick and rookie Raphael Matos.

But the most distinctive thing about Alex Lloyd is the title sponsorship by HER ("Healthy Energy Revitalizer" - it's an energy drink) which has colored his car bright pink. It will definitely stand out in the field.

XM Radio Online/Sirius Internet Radio get new channels

Online Radio updates
Listeners to Sirius Internet Radio and XM Radio Online may have noticed a bit of an update recently - new channels! Some channels are now being shared between the two services, and others are online-only exclusive compilations.

Additionally, Sirius Hits 1 is now being called Sirius XM Hits 1 - and there's a dedicated webpage on XM for channel 2 (though it hasn't shown up on anyone's XM receivers at the time of posting this).

Does this have anything to do with the Sirius XM iPhone App?

But will the ability to hear satellite radio's exclusive content be the panacea that some are hoping it will be?

It can be... but only if the company remembers who they are talking to, and approach this the right way.
