This weekend, The Opie & Anthony Show is highlighting clips from terrestrial morning shows from all across the country... and ripping them to pieces.
Pop phenom Lady Gaga will spend an entire weekend hosting specials, sharing stories and playing her favorite music on Sirius XM Radio.
It's been one year since Lady Gaga's debut album The Fame hit the streets, becoming the most successful debut album this year, peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200 list and selling more than 1.5 million copies in the U.S. alone.
Well... free for 30-days at least. But it's definitely a taste at one of the longer free satellite radio trial periods yet. We all know that trial drives purchase - forget all the celebrities and hype: hearing is truly believing - and I've always felt that the 3-day trial was never enough.
So now Sirius XM are giving away free satellite radio for 30 days of the premium online subscription in a "Hear. Now" promotion.
When I first had the chance to play with the XM SkyDock back in August, I boldly stated that Sirius XM Radio "hit the ball right out of the park" with this latest device. I was enamored with the concept of being able to combine my iPhone and a satellite radio in a single neat package. That was then. The question is, does the sentiment still hold up?

But, do I still feel the same about the SkyDock as I did two months ago?
Celebrities are still getting signed by Sirius XM Radio Inc. - now the latest addition to the satellite radio ranks is Rosie O'Donnell with her new morning show Rosie Radio set to launch on November 2nd.
The newly released XM SkyDock was just recently selected as one of Apple's own Staff Picks on their website and is featured on the Apple Store homepage as a result.

It's the return of Halloween Radio! Much like we've seen in prior years, Sirius XM Radio Inc. have once again is launching their Halloween Radio channel (Sirius channel 126 and XM channel 120), starting on Monday, October 26th.
Legendary guitarist Joe Perry from Aerosmith will be guest hosting on Sirius XM Radio's Classic Vinyl channel (Sirius channel 14 and XM channel 46), this Friday, October 16th.
On Classic Vinyl's Guitar Legends with Joey Perry Perry will introduce the legendary guitar heroes of classic rock including, Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, Pete Townshend of The Who, Jimi Hendrix and more
It's been five-years since Bob Edwards has been hosting The Bob Edwards Show on XM Public Radio (and incidentally, Orbitcast is nearing its 5-year anniversary blogging about satellite radio... more on that soon).
Internationally acclaimed DJ and record producer, Tiesto will take over Sirius XM's BPM channel for an entire week, turning the BPM into Tiesto Kaleidoscope Radio, starting this Monday, October 12th.
The new XM SkyDock App for the iPhone/iPod Touch is now available (the icon is in the upper-left of the screenshot above).
Apparently Sirius XM Radio Inc. has decided to release it ahead of what we originally heard was scheduled.

Tonight at 12am ET, Slacker will turn on a new feature integrating Twitter with the personal radio service. An official press announcement will be made in the hours following the integration, Orbitcast has learned.
The XM SkyDock won't be available until October 18th, and the iPhone App that makes it work isn't be available until October 11th... but apparently some retailers didn't get the message and started stocking shelves with it.
Let's just hope their sales staff is trained to explain all that to them, before those lucky few consumers try to actually get the device to work.

Details are scant right now, but word has come to us that Slacker is at CTIA showing off their latest Slacker mobile app on the Windows Mobile and Google Android mobile platforms.
The timeline for launching on these platforms is unknown, but as soon as more details come in, we'll pass them along. Check out the Google Android photo after the jump...
Hot on the news that the XM SkyDock will be available for shipment soon comes word that the accompaning XM SkyDock iPhone App (screenshot pictured above) is scheduled to be released early next week, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The XM SkyDock - arguably the most anticipated satellite radio receiver this holiday season - is expected to be available for shipment from select retailers on October 18th, according retailer TSS Radio (via SiriusBuzz).
Some retailers have begun taking pre-orders of the SkyDock, including TSS Radio and others like Crutchfield, and (as usual) these orders will be fulfilled in a first-come, first-serve basis.
Hall of Fame slugger Reggie Jackson (aka, "Mr. October") will host a new six-week talk series host, October Nights, on Sirius XM Radio starting this Tuesday, October 6th. The new weekly show will run through the 2009 MLB postseason.
Farm Aid 2009 - an annual event that raises funds to keep farm families on their land - will be broadcast live on today, October 4th at 2pm in St. Louis on Willie Nelson's Willie's Place channel (Sirius channel 64 and XM channel 13). The lineup will include:
- Performances by Farm Aid Board Members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews who will perform with Tim Reynolds
- And dozens more performances including: Wilco, Jason Mraz, Gretchen Wilson, Jamey Johnson, Billy Joe Shaver, Phosphorescent, Will Dailey, Ernie Isley & the Jam Band, Ryan Bingham & the Dead Horses, The Blackwood Quartet and Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real.
Late night funnyman Jimmy Fallon will sit down tonight with Unmasked host and equally-as-funny man Ron Bennington for an in-depth conversation on Raw Dog Comedy (Sirius channel 104 and XM channel 150).
Starting with last night's Opening Night games and through the Stanley Cup Final, XM listeners will have access to live play-by-play of every regular season and playoff game on XM channels 204-209. Sirius subscribers also get to experience most regular season games and every NHL postseason game with the "Best of XM" programming package on Sirius channels 208-220.
Rapper Eminem will grace his own Sirius XM Radio channel Shade 45 with his presence yet again this year with two uncensored interviews set to air on Saturday and Tuesday.Subscribe to Orbitcast
