According to various online sources, Apple has launched its first employee bus lines from San Francisco to the company’s corporate headquarters - a 44 mile one-way journey.
And supposedly... the shuttle has XM installed.
MacUser reports that the silver bus has black tinted windows and runs on bio-diesel (and why not?). There’s also WiFi coverage available the entire trip (probably via a high-speed wireless modem), and power plugs at every seat. The leather seats feature flaps so sleepy-heads can lean to one side without invading the personal space of fellow co-workers.
There's "an airplane-style audio entertainment setup" built-in as well, which according to MacUser's source, includes XM Satellite Radio.
Now what would Apple employees need with XM for their ride up to Cupertino?

it could be nothing. It could be the fact that some people might just want to hear "radio". and the bus did not want to fool around with getting FM in there. Plus the Apple employees would be too cool for that. so they got XM, well...because it is better.

All it means is that they will always compete with each other, but will never replace each other..It will never be cool to purchased a CNBC track or listen to a stored old baseball game..

This means nothing. They contracted out for a bus and audio system and got sat radio service installed. It doesn't indicate anything of corporate Apple.

No, you're wrong. There is no way in hell AAPL would have a bus with XM unless they were getting ready to build Ipods and Iphones with XM. No way.
Not only that I heard Jobs was seen in DC last week, which makes sense, given that's where XM's headquarters are.
And add to that the fact that Jobs drives an Escalade (when he's not in his Ferrari) which, as we all know, have XM as standard equipment. Definitely, XM coming ti Ipods and Iphones. Either that or AAPL is definitely buying XM.
Because Apple knows real quality when it sees it, and XM is superior to Sirius.
At least it is right NOW...before the merger goes through and Mel and his buddy Howard gut it out.

If you're going to read anything into this (and I'm sure no one really is), read the entire article. It also notes that there are 2 GPS-eneabled maps up front...an obvious sign that AAPL is buying Garmin or TomTom?!? It notes there are leather seats...hinting that the next iPod will include a grill, or link directly to the nation's premier slaughterhouses?!? The busses even have a restroom...if that's not a clear sign that Jobs has his sights set on the nations sewage infrastructure, I don't know what is!
All it means is that people going to work don't want to listen to Dj's or commercials! So, the bus driver throws on Flight 26 and everyone is cool!
