Artie Lange's Beer League debuts today in a limited opening (160+ theaters) and word has it the nationwide opening is set for October 6th. Check here for a list of theaters premiering the movie today.
Staring Artie Langue (of course), as well as Ralph Maccio, Anthony De Sando, Cara Buono, Jimmy Palumbo, Joe Lo Truglio , Jerry Minor, Seymour Cassel, Michael Deeg, and Laurie Metcalf.
Variety has an interesting review on the movie if you want to check it out, or watch the trailer after the jump...
Warning, this trailer is an XL channel and may contain explicit language. Channel blocking is available by calling... oh wait, wrong line. Yes, this trailer contains naughty language so be warned.

Can't say I think its going to be very good. Good luck though. He's doing more than every one of the mouth-breather shitdick lickers that are about to comment.
didn't i already bring this up in the o&a post?
not bad. the humor is up my alley, can't say the same about the critics. i heard the sneak previews got a good reception.
With all the promotion that Howard is probably doing on Sirius for this movie, it should bring in tens of dollars.
Plan is to wait for the DVD. The girl wants to see The Last Kiss. And after seeing Garden State, so do i.
Since I haven't seen it (and never will), the only comment I can make is - Artie looks way too healthy on that poster.
Unless he put on about 100 pounds between the end of the filming and the Shatner roast, that is...
Pete: he did. Artie is not the bastion of health nowadays.
"Unless he put on about 100 pounds between the end of the filming and the Shatner roast, that is..."
I thnk it's more like 85lbs...
I'm looking forward to seeig it this weekend. Looks hilarious.
From youtube
"Adding comments have been disabled for this video." Never seen that done before.
In today's NYPost, there is an almost full-page ad for the film. The comments by film critics that will sometimes fill up all existing space on some ads are as follows:
"Golf has Caddyshack, baseball has Major League and now softball as its own ...classic!" -- Mark Bell, FilmThreat.com
Mark pretty much gave a rave review (4 1/2 stars), but it still isn't Ebert and Roepert or Leonard Maltin or the New York Times.
-----------------------
"A raunchy, raucus frat party!" -- Tony Macklin, Las Vegas Weekly.
But here's what wasn't quoted from Macklin's review... "Artie Lange is like Flounder from Animal House trying to carry a whole movie. He can't quite do it, but he gives it a game effort."
Overall Tony basically said that Stern fans will think Artie can do no wrong and will take whatever is given to them. He didn't quite pan the movie, but it wasn't any kind of "classic" that Mark Bell thinks.
--------------------
And finally, we come to this...
"It's a terrific movie! We laughed our asses off!" - Howard Stern
So Howie is now in the film review biz? I guess that's one way of keeping your name in the paper.
icepik- Another way of keeping you name in the paper is have other personalities mention him.
O & A work great this morning between 7-8. I thought my radio was still turned on at first because Howard was talking.
its a critic proof movie.
roeper who is a friend of the show said that he wants to see it and artie jokingly says that roepers book about the white sox IS the best book of the year.as much as i love artie , i do have a feeling that he be curled up in a ball in his apt. all weekend.
Movies that don't get a wide release tend to be critic proof, because most critics never get a chance to see it.
I know I'm tearing this up a bit, but I did admit way back that when I saw the full R-rated trailer that it did appear funny in parts and would probably be a good HBO flick or DVD rental/buy.
And if the movie turns into a blockbuster, all of you have carte blanche to tear me a new one. I can at least admit when I'm wrong, but I don't think I'm going to be on this one.
Meet Artie with your ticket to Beer League and he will buy a you a shot

That's not true, icepik. Interning for the L.A. Times Entertainment section, critics watch a ton of independent low budget movies, but you think they go unreviewed cuz you dont see the indie trailer spots every commercial break like the bigger ones.
And im a huge fan of the show and of artie, and the trailer looked really horrible. Howard and even Ralph were saying the trailer hurts the movie more than it helps, it doesnt do it justice.
And if the movie turns into a blockbuster, all of you have carte blanche to tear me a new one. I can at least admit when I'm wrong, but I don't think I'm going to be on this one.
what is a blockbuster for a movie that cost 2.5 min? double would be 5 mil.
>> O & A work great this morning between 7-8. I thought my radio was still turned on at first because Howard was talking. >>
Howard fired the first shot, for the record. They all had something to chime in about their Letterman appearance, and O&A responded.
If Howard's mentioning the other shows simply to get exposure, then he's either really desperate for said exposure or O&A's success is bugging the sh*t out of him.
Either way, it's laughable.
>> Pete: he did. Artie is not the bastion of health nowadays. >>
IMO the poster's still heavily doctored. Not unlike most movie posters today anyway...
"With all the promotion that Howard is probably doing on Sirius for this movie, it should bring in tens of dollars."

How's that Jimmy Norton project going....oh that's right he plays a bit part on a HBO show
How did the o&s movie pan out...oh that's right they never made one, and if they proabally did it would make Shake's the Clown look like Chariot's of Fire
o&a must have a tv show...ummm, nah, don't think so.
their letterman apperance was great advertisment for Howard and Sirius, but they will be back on in Dec to plug Howard and Sirius again.
[quote]Howard fired the first shot, for the record. They all had something to chime in about their Letterman appearance, and O&A responded.[quote]
For the record , those 2 clowns talk about him everyday and now that daddy acknowlaged them they can feel they finally accomplished something.
O&A helped Howard get at least one more sub on Friday. A guy I worked with was listening to that crap show and once Howard came on the air he told me he though to gee I miss good radio. He went to bestbuy that afternoon and got his radio.
Did he stan, did he really???
thats funny because my roommate who had been listening to O&A on wjfk overheard the show coming out of my room the other day and is now going to dump his sirius (which he got for nfl and nhl and has never listened to a game of either on it) for XM.
net subs for sirius: 0
new subs for XM: 1
good for your friend stan
he wont be dissapointed.
MarkS is is angry because he wasn't born with taste
"...wjfk overheard the show coming out of my room the other day and is now going to dump his sirius "
Yeah. right. That's believable. And I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you...
::rollseyes::
Actually it is true. He didnt get any sat radio in his new scion (he had his sportster in his old echo) and has been listening to FM for the past few weeks. Since the head unit in there is SAT ready (for either service) he is going to choose xm once it gets hooked up.
The worst part about the whole thing is that he listens to Elliot in the morning on DC101 anyway as his morning talk show. I hate waking up to that laugh coming from downstairs...
Early box office gross numbers for Sept 15th-17th...
$320,000.
Not only is MarkS gay, but he's also full of shit.
And as far as the $320,000 for the opening weekend... damn! Tomorrow's show cant come fast enough for me. Will Artie show up? Will he have a classic Artie meltdown? I sooo can't wait.
yeah, this is what i do. I go to websites and lie about satellite radio subscriptions to make people like you angry. you figured me out.
I guess that makes me gay. At least I dont jack it to pictures of tommy lasorta while my kid shoves a souvenir bat in me.
while youre in cali why dont you jump in the pacific and swim back home. nobody needs you here.
Ahhh... Fuck all that....
GO GIANTS!!! Best Win In Years!!! YEAHHHHH!!!! Eagles Suck Cack!!!! Wooo Hooooo!!!!!
As an aside, I, too, am looking forward to tomorrow's show. Hopefully, Artie'll be there and won't be crawled up in a ball in a darkened room somewhere trying to snort coke through a pepperoni.
Saw the movie last night, and though Artie was basically playing himself, he did a good job. Just as I expected, the movie was funny and gross in all the right places and well worth your $10.00!!
Much like many of the people who saw it, I too found it impossible to believe that a hottie like Cara Buono wouldn't be utterly disgusted by a fat, drunken pig like Artie, but, hey, that's Howiewood.
Two Thumbs Up!! For the Giants and Artie!!!
artie will be on in the morning.i feel that artie is thinking about the dvd sales.
O&A are going to announce the movie sales numbers for this weekend, just for the fat man you all adore. Should be a good laugh.
I post with a bunch of Stern fans on a neutral forum. I gave someone Fridays O&A Show (sternfan you know all about it). He said he cant believe they say everything he thinks. He hates how Howard has been acting lately. Bragging and or moaning about numbers and people out to get him. He listened to the hole show and thought it was great. A week ago he would say "O&A are losers...." or something stupid. Not anymore.
More desperation from the stern camp
" I don't know how accurate this is but Box Office Mojo is reporting Beer League's weekend at $320,000.
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend...wknd=37&p=.htm
As you probably know, Artie needs to make a million to bring the movie to a national release in October. If you were planning on seeing it and haven't gone out yet, do it today.
We've heard reports of Artie fans from across the country simply buying a ticket through fandango even though they can't see it. If you are one of them, let us know about it.

Mutt"
Links are parsed. Dont care enough to fix them. Pathetic attempt at trying to make this movie bigger than it could be on its own. And hi TLD, im party of the smear campaign :)
fine. whatever.its not like stern has never been on a rant.he hates bad
press.just like o&a hate people talking bad about them.
O&A hate what? Why dont you call the show tomorrow, say anything you want. They will let you on. Just make sure to bring your A game. 1 866 WOW 1 WOW
they didn't call robin a house nigger for nothing.
they didn't call artie fat for nothing.and it not like there is a post to save luckie louie at wackbag.oh wait there is.
as for calling them i'm too much of a yes man.
i now know why tussel hates the stern show? its honest.tussels not honest. look at that last post he wrote.O&A hate what when i said the reason in my post.
again they hate people who talk about him.they called artie fat after coments he made about see them on letterman.and then anthony called robin house nigger.
i know what you all will say he said house n----
and theres your bbboys your mid 40s bbboys.i hate being lied to thats the reason why i dont listen to o&a.
Tussel that is the phone number. I thought O&A said on friday that it was sterns old number. Which we all know is the reservation number for Trump's places in AC.
Adjusted numbers show it just over $302k for the weekend.
"and theres your bbboys your mid 40s "
Actually, I believe it's late 40's. And I believe that little Anthony is 50. But they're not old. Just pathetic.
:)
Everyone got the mass email from SFN? Commenting on people buying tickets online for theaters they could not attend? Great idea pests.
