Audiovox XpressEZ XM radio unboxed
A brand spankin' new Audiovox XpressEZ plug-and-play XM Satellite Radio receiver just was handed to a giggly yours-truly by the pretty FedEx lady this morning.
And while the XpressEZ isn't due to hit the streets until June, we're today getting a preview look of Audiovox's entry-level offering with an unboxing and undressing.
Follow the jump for more photos of the XpressEZ unboxing and initial impressions...
XM's new packaging promotes more XM-centric branding (rather than the manufacturer's own branding), which was a much needed change.
Yes, that's the XpressEZ docked into the Delphi Premium Sound System you see on the inside flap there. One of the benefits of a standardized docking/accessory architecture. (Wouldn't it be nice if XM and Sirius shared the same docking architecture?)
This a bare-bones XM receiver. No remote included (which personally, I find that I rarely use in the car anyway). Just a dock, antenna, 12v power-source, vent clip, and yes - XM SureConnect for FM modulating.
The XpressEZ is pretty tiny. Not the long-skinny approach like the XM Sportscaster, but more along the lines of the RoadyXT. So for its size, the simplified interface makes lots of sense. But how does it perform? Full review coming soon...

Heh, this is just a review unit. I don't get to keep any of this stuff - it all gets shipped right back.

Don't know yet, I haven't had a chance to actually plug-in and play. I'll do a full review shortly.
