XM Satellite Radio & Bon Jovi: 'Have a Nice Gig' Contest

Bon Jovi and XM Satellite Radio team upXM Satellite Radio has joined forces with Bon Jovi with a new contest, entitled the "Have a Nice Gig." Starting today, unsigned artists in select cities can enter to have the opportunity to have their band open for multi-platinum Bon Jovi at select cities on the Have A Nice Day World Tour.

Each band will then be entered into the semi-finals where the grand prize-winning band will receive a demo deal with AEG Records and open for Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium during the summer of 2006.

To enter, unsigned musicians living within 100 miles of the concert city must complete a brief application and upload one song at http://bonjovi.xmradio.com. A panel of XM's in-house music experts will review all submissions and select the bands -- one for each performance -- to play in front of the sold out crowds.

In all, 24 bands from 17 cities will be selected and in the running to receive a demo deal and another chance to open for Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium.

Tour cities are available after the jump...

The concert is being multicasted by Network LIVE, the joint venture by XM Satellite Radio, AOL and AEG. You can watch it on AOL Music Live or if you've been listening to XM's Boneyard, or uhhh... BON-yard... then you've been hearing Bon Jovi all day long before the live concert tonight at 9pm. This is all part of the kickoff for Bon Jovi's new album Have a Nice Day. Definitely tune into the concert, and Orbitcast tips our hat to AOL Music in appreciation for the link-love.
