Following last week's rumor mongering, official word has come out that Bubba the Love Sponge will soon be heard on four more radio stations covering Miami, Orlando, Ft. Myers and Richmond, Virginia.
Bubba's status at Sirius XM Radio Inc. was not addressed.
Cox Radio stations WHDR in Miami (93 Rock), WHTQ in Orlando (96.5), and WDYL in Richmond (Y101), along with Beasley Broadcast Group station WRXK in Ft. Myers (96 K-Rock), will start airing the Bubba the Love Sponge Show on January 5th, 2009.
The show is broadcast live from 6am - 10am ET from Bubba's own custom, multimedia studio in Tampa.
Because the Bubba the Love Sponge Show is now available for syndication, and Bubba's agent, Thomas J. Bean, is currently talking with additional interested radio stations, additional markets will subsequently be announced.
UPDATE: A representative has informed us that Bubba is still in talks with Sirius regarding his future there.

I didn't think Richmond radio could get worse but it has
Sirius is a sinking ship, And bubba knows this, He is cutting the best deal he can for him and his crew and if sirus gets to be part of it so be it, but he is looking long term
Who the hell cares about this guy?
Bibba is a talent that deserves any success that comes his way. Him and his crew put on a great show twice a day. I hope Sirius realizes that keeping a talent like him and his crew is mandatory for success.
fte209 your gay go ride in your truck and get off the internet. Oh maybe your job is a sinking ship to?
Actually fte, I disagree. Sirius is in big money trouble, no doubt. But Bubba sees Sat. as the future (whether post-bankruptcy or not). Terrestrial is what is dying. They can pay more now, and he needs the money, so he is going with it. But my guess is that he wants to stay with Sat. radio in a very bad way. Probably even offer to do two shows! Wait, he's already done that.
Probably make a nice offer to Sirius just to stay on with it, so that when it does turn the corner, again, post-bankruptcy or not, he is still "in" and can be a part of it.
Remember, the success of sat. radio has nothing to do with its stock price. The current shareholders may not live to see it, but sat. radio is going to be kind, I promise you.
Good for Bubba. I doubt he remains with SiriusXM anyway as they have completely destroyed the service with their censorship.
Bubba is showing that Morning Shock Jocks can work in syndication on terrestrial radio. He is topping the ratings and ADDING markets.
Something the braintrust at CBS radio couldn't and still can't do with Opie and Anthony.
what a bunch of podunk sgnals
Bubba's the man. I love how all these lifeless O&A fans are in here all day posting comments about bubba.
Let him go. He is high maintenance.
Bubba has a great show. I'm glad that he's getting the chance to grow. It'll definately be Sirius' loss if he does leave.
O&A fans are home all day because they live in their parents basement, they are unemployed, and are single fat guys.
Bubba is great!
Funny to call O&A fans fat... you've seen Bubba, right?
Bubba's doing better than howard.
Bubba fits right in with the Blue Collar Comedy/NASCAR crowd. Fart jokes are hilarious, Bubba. Sure, he can leave, and eventually he'll be so full of himself he'll have to...but who's gonna bail him out when he's fired again?
Bubba Rocks.... Also from SiriusBuzz:
Artie Lange has once again proved to American children across these great states, that anything really is possible. With his first book being described as “Outrageous, raw, and painfully funny true stories straight from the life of the actor, comedian, and much-loved cast member of The Howard Stern Show ”, Artie Lange has snagged the #1 spot on the New York Times Best Sellers List.
Artie is a true man’s man storytelling genius but, lets not get the reason why this book debuted at number one twisted. People like to question the power of Howard Stern since moving to Sirius but make no mistake about it, without Howard this book doesn’t go straight to number one… hell it probably would have never been written in the first place.
Bubba begged for a job now it's not good enough. Leave FAT BOY!!!
We want Hendrie!!!!
He begged for a job just like anyone else would. So they treated him like a jerk, short changing him leaving him hanging until the last minuite to offer him a horrible deal that he was forced to take because they held all the cards. Now he holds all of the cards he doesn't have to take that from them now. So he shouldn't have to be treated like some low level DJ when in fact is that his show is growing more and more and they can't keep him down anymore. Sirius has treated him miserable since day 1 so good for Bubba.
BUBBA IS A CUNT
A cunt without a gig on Satellite anymore.
hahahaha, and ha.
Bubba Is Better Then Sirius, That is why he has a great morning show in Tampa FL, 102.5 The Bone & # 1 at that
Both Howard and Bubba have great shows on Sirius. Both shows are very different in format and content. I believe Sirius paid Howard initially to anchor Satellite Radio as a player and vault satellite into the future. As congress almost stated Sirus cant be allowed to become a monolopy, even internally to is employees. Sirius cant become the single decision in controlling its employees salaries. Bubba has worked the job, started for under market wages and now has proved himself as a player. He is a little rough with management but thats what i like. Give Bubba and his crew a living wage and stop the BS. And the rest of you stop putting him down, the fact that your posting means you listen. Theres a place for Bubba for sure, Sirius get busy, stop playing corporate games and get a deal signed. PS: MY wife listenes to Howard and Bubba and would never listen to Martha or Opra.
I am a retired Philadelphia school teacher/coordinator.
I presently work as a carpenter and drive over an hour to most job sites.
Howard, Bubba, Ferell and Reilly Martin add an entertainment quality to radio that has been lost.
They put the Amos and Andy and Jack Benny back into radio that has been missing for years.
Without Howard and his team, I find Sirrius too terestial like and frankly boaring.
I was going to cancel my subscription if Bubba was not on Sirrius satellite radio.
Bubba is a fat disgusting talentless douche.
