XM Canada Appoints Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing

XM CanadaXM Canada has appointed Donald McKenzie as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. McKenzie will be responsible for all sales and marketing functions of XM Canada, including retail, automotive distribution channels and listener care.

McKenzie began his career in advertising and product marketing where he worked with Ogilvy & Mather, Young & Rubicam, Faberge, Cadbury Beverages and CPAS Systems. He has also spent the past 10 years in Canada's wireless telecommunications arena where he played an instrumental role in the design and build of distribution channels for Clearnet, now TELUS Mobility.

XM Canada Signs Controversial Jock Jeff Fillion

Jeff Fillion on XMXM Canada has signed the controversial jock, "Le Pirate" Jeff Fillion, to a five-year exclusive agreement. Fillion will host a new morning show, "The Pirate of the Airwaves" on XM Satellite Radio's French channel, SportsPlus (ch 172), starting on September 4th, 2006.

Jeff Fillion at his peak had twice as many listeners as his nearest competitor, but due to his politically incorrect comments - the CRTC refused to renew his station's license in 2004, and he was subsequently fired in 2005.
