Sirius Blows Past 3 Million Subscribers!

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 9:04 AM

SIRIUS Satellite Radio has just announced that they've surpased 3 million subscribers and expect "a strong year end."

Details are limited right now, but as soon as more info comes in, you'll be sure to see it here.

UPDATE: Bear Sterns analyst Robert S. Peck expects that SIRIUS hit the 3 million mark on December 20th, bringing the total subscriber count for this quarter to 930,000. He also expects that XM will hit 6 million on December 26th, bringing the total net adds for this quarter to 1.02 million. [New Ratings]

UPDATE 2: The lack of information in the press release has left a lot of room for speculation (genius) - with chatter of 3.5 million by January 31st being whispered about. If you're looking for more media coverage, MSNBC has a slightly more colorful take on the whole thing.
