Olympic Champion Shaun White on SIRIUS

Shaun White2006 Olympic gold medalist in snowboarding, Shaun White, will be interviewed and play some tunes that he's personally selected tomorrow (October 26th) at 10pm ET on SIRIUS Faction (ch 28).

The snowboarder/skateboarder will join Faction host Will Pendarvis to talk about this-and-that like White's latest ventures including a clothing line and his new custom shoe, a new house, and more. The Carlsbad, CA native will also talk about his friendship with Faction's Tony Hawk, and will personally select and play his current favorite music for Faction listeners.

Shaun White is no stranger to Faction having previously hosted Hostile Takeover back in June 2006.

Eminem to world premiere new song on SIRIUS

EminemEminem will be live on his SIRIUS Satellite Radio channel, Shade 45 (ch 45), this Wednesday, October 25th at 4pm ET to premiere a new track from Shady Records' upcoming CD, Eminem Presents: The Re-Up.

Em will be live on the air with the Lord Sear and Rude Jude, hosts of The All-Out Show on Shade 45.

He'll also be celebrating the second anniversary of Shade 45, which is sort of interesting since Orbitcast is doing the same. Two-years and counting... amazing.

John Legend Live on SIRIUS

John Legend on SIRIUSIn a special SIRIUS live broadcast, Grammy-winning artist John Legend will perform songs from his upcoming new album Once Again, this Wednesday, October 25th at 12pm ET on SIRIUS Heart & Soul (ch 51). Once Again is set to be released on October 24th.

The winner of three 2005 Grammy awards, John Legend will perform before a studio audience for this live broadcast. In between songs Legend will respond to interview questions from on-aur hosts Tanya Simpson and James "D-Train" Williams.

Vince Gill Debuts His New CD Set on SIRIUS

Vince GillCountry music singer Vince Gill will debut his new 4-disc set These Days for SIRIUS Satellite Radio listeners this Friday, October 20th. The four-disc box set of bluegrass, acoustic and mainstream country, rock and jazz is being released today by Universal.

Gill will be on the following Sirius channels on Friday:

  • SIRIUS New Country (ch 60): Gill will visit with host Jessica Wade to play and talk about selections from his new box set (3pm ET).
  • SIRIUS Bluegrass (ch 65): Gill will explore his bluegrass roots and play some of his favorite bluegrass recordings (including his own) with host Joey Black (5pm ET).
  • SIRIUS Prime Country (ch 61): Gill will talk all about his expansive new box set with host Kim Ashley (7pm ET).

Vince Gill has more CMA (Country Music Association) awards than any other performer and has been awarded 17 GRAMMYS since 1990, the most for any country artist.

Sirius Music NewsSirius is kicking off a new feature across multiple music channels with the creation of Sirius Music News. Featuring their own music news gathering team, Sirius Music News will provide exclusive interviews, timely news and insight in the world of music.

Daily reports will be available on SIRIUS Hits-1, The Pulse, Hair Nation, Shade 45, Hip-Hop Nation and New Country.

Recently reported news items include Ne-Yo responding to false gay rumors, and nude photos of himself that were intended for use as blackmail; Lionel Richie unveiling that the Commodores will reunite; and Tanya Tucker announcing the recording of a new song with Willie Nelson, George Jones and Merle Haggard.

The Last CBGB Show, Live on SIRIUS Satellite Radio

CBGBThe legendary NYC rock club, CBGB, is hosting its final performance ever and SIRIUS Satellite Radio is broadcasting it live on SIRIUS Disorder (ch 24). Patti Smith who first played CBGB in February 1975, will be aired live on Disorder at 9pm ET, on Sunday October 15th.

The famed club is closing following unsuccessful rent negotiations with its landlord. News of its demise prompted worldwide press coverage and sparked several campaigns to save the musical landmark. Tickets to the October 15 final show with Smith were sold out in 8 minutes, according to CBGB’s founder and owner, Hilly Kristal. 

For over 33 years many thousands of music lovers have flocked to the Bowery bar that became famous as the birthplace of American punk music. Originally intended to present country, bluegrass and blues music shows (which is what CBGB stands for), the club became known for pioneering performances by New York rock and punk acts including Smith, Television, Blondie and The Ramones, to name a few.

Jimmy Buffett Previews His New Album on SIRIUS

Radio MargaritavilleJimmy Buffett will be previewing his upcoming new album, Take the Weather With You, on SIRIUS Satellite Radio's Radio Margaritaville (ch 31), this Wednesday, October 4th at 6pm ET.

Buffett will tell the story behind every song on the new album (which is being released on October 10th) with Radio Margaritaville's host Steve Huntington.

Some of you Buffett fans might have actually heard a few of the new songs during his 2006 concert tour, because every show was covered live on SIRIUS.

Replays of Jimmy's album preview will be on October 6th at 12pm ET, October 8th at 3pm ET, October 10th at 9pm ET and October 11th at 5pm ET.
