Boston Herald: How Sirius and XM rate in the radio arena
Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 9:50 AM

The Boston Herald decided to do comparison between XM and SIRIUS, but thankfully it's not like all the other comparisons you read. They instead decided to do a content-comparison rather than drone on and on about how many Sirius satellites vs how many XM Satellites are up in the sky.
So here's the results for those who don't want to click-through and read:
Format: Rock
Winner: XM for Gen X, Sirius for baby boomers
Format: Pop
Winner: XM
Format: Hip-hop/Urban
Winner: Sirius
Format: Dance/Electronica
Winner: Sirius
Format: Niche Channels (XM: Starbucks music channel, Cerebral New Age, Playboy Channel, etc / SIRIUS: Gay Radio, Maxim Radio, Grand Ole Opry, etc)
Winner: Neither (yeah great thanks)
Format: Classical
Winner: XM
Format: News/Talk
Winner: Sirius
Format: Sports
Winner: XM
Agree? Disagree? Feel free to vent away.
