SIRIUS & XM - rivals or friends?

That’s the question an article in the LA Times is asking in a very interesting read. While each service is obviously doing their best to grab the attention of potential satellite radio subscribers, it’s hardly a situation where one would put the other out of business. Both are good services
If anything, SIRIUS and XM need each other. If one goes out of business, the other definitely loses and Terrestrial will be able to dance around singing “I told you so! nyah nyah nyah!” which is something no one wants.
No, competition is a GOOD thing. It makes both services make sure that they’re not only better than the crap you hear on AM/FM, but strive to be better than each other. In the end, the consumer wins - and that’s what we all want.
