While I was taking these pics, I turned around to see Joe Clayton, but he escaped before I was able to get any shots off. I'll go stalk him for a bit to see if I can get a photo.

Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 2:19 PM

SXSW Music Festival on XM Satellite Radio
XM Satellite Radio will share the music and energy of the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference and Festival with fans across the country through a series of exclusive live performances, interviews and original specials. For the second year in a row, XM will be the satellite radio home for live performances from SXSW, held March 16 through March 19 in Austin, Tex., the "live music capital of the world."

Throughout the festival, XM will broadcast select SXSW performances and artist interviews hosted live by XM's on-air staff. XM's live broadcast home during SXSW will be the Town Lake Stage at Auditorium Shores in the heart of downtown Austin. XM is a main sponsor of the SXSW Town Lake Stage that will feature free performances open to the public beginning Thursday, March 17 through Saturday, March 19.

XM also will be on hand for several attendee-only SXSW music showcases during the festival, including Americana Music Association Night; the BMI, Tracks and Cellus USA showcase; the Signature Sounds party; the Yep Roc/Harp Magazine party; and the exclusive Fader Magazine party. In April, XM will rebroadcast the sounds and excitement of SXSW with an extended special across multiple channels, featuring highlights from these live performances and artist interviews.

Additionally, Jessie Scott, program director for XM's progressive country channel, X Country (XM Channel 12), and Tobi, program director for XMU (XM Channel 43), XM's home for new and independent music, will participate in a special SXSW conference session, "Satellite Radio: Triumph of the Niche," on Friday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m.

XM plus two at Country Music Hall of Fame

Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 8:39 AM

XM plus two at Country Music Hall of Fame
Yeehaw! XM Satellite Radio reached an agreement with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to construct two more broadcast studios at the downtown facility.

XM established its first studio outside its D.C. broadcast center in the Hall of Fame in 2001. Four DJs and executive producer Joyce Rizer work from the studio, which is used to program three country stations, America XM Channel 10 , Highway 16 XM Channel... err.. 16, and X-Country Channel 12.

The construction of two studios, scheduled to begin later this year, will allow XM to expand its staff and programming from Nashville. But no one knows for sure the specific timing of the studio openings.

XM will also debut a six-part series narrated by Shania Twain that will chronicle her life and music. In the fall, XM will do a retrospective on Reba McEntire?s career. Another program, called ?The Long Haul: The History of Modern Country Music,? will attempt to play every song that reached the Top 30 country music charts from 1940 through 2004. It will be hosted by Bill Anderson, Marty Stuart and Brad Paisley.

Thanks candlebougie!
