The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is upon us once again, and this year Orbitcast is heading out to Vegas armed to the teeth with multimedia equipment and guns blazing.
I'll be at CES from Saturday through Wednesday, and will cover all that XM and Sirius are showing off - as well as an entire week's worth of other developments in the audio entertainment field. From HD Radio, to Wi-Fi Radio, to the latest in In-Vehicle Infotainment - and literally everything in between - I'll be bringing you photos, video, audio and live mobile alerts as I traverse the 1.8 million square feet of exhibit space in the Las Vegas Convention Center (not to mention all the surrounding events around Vegas).
Here's just a tiny sampling of companies and events I'll be visiting:
- Audiovox
- Delphi
- Directed Electronics
- Ford Motor Company
- HD Radio
- ICO/Alcatel-Lucent
- On2 Technologies
- Slacker
- Sony
- VoiceBox Technlogies
- FCC Chairman Kevin Martin panel session
- GM CEO Rick Wagoner Keynote
- ...oh, and everything from XM and Sirius as well. :)
I'll be taking hours of video footage for your consumption - and on Wednesday, January 9th at 1pm ET/10am PT, I'll be hosting a special edition of Orbitcast Radio direct from the floor of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
But wait, there's more!
If you want to get up-to-the-second updates about what cool technologies I'm encountering, I'll be sending constant updates from my mobile phone to Twitter (don't worry, there will be a Twitter widget on Orbitcast so you won't miss a thing). So if Kevin Martin or Rick Wagoner (or Eric Logan for that matter) say anything of interest, I'll let everyone know within seconds.
The fun begins starting tomorrow. So stay tuned, because Orbitcast is going to Vegas baby!
(And check out last year's coverage here in case you feel like being nostalgic.)

Ryan,
please post video from the bunny ranch
:)
Hmmmmm. I don't see any bar hopping or whoring on the agenda. What's up with that?
Give ELo a kiss for me.
I have a new (actually refurb) Inno, and damned if it isn't one of the nicest units I ever seen (I know, it's 2 years out of date, but I still like it.)
A tax-deductible week in Vegas.
Ryan, you deserve it....
@Stack: LOL!
Can't wati for CES...always a fun time of year to check out all the goodies.

ONCE again, Ryan and Orbitcast ahead of the game. Sure, a lot of folks cover CES, but when Ryan does, it is like one of use went!
You are the peoples' blogger, my friend.
What Stack Pointer said, Ryan. Have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hoo Hoo
Was just checking out some of the advance stuff on Engadget & Gizmodo- some pretty sick stuff being rolled out. The media wars have just begun, folks. PC to TV, TV to Phone, wireless sound and image to every room in your house....... Unreal- a whole new world.
What I want are those new Sennheiser/Kleer headphones.
I'm jealous. One of these year's I'm going... somehow... someway. At least I get to go to NAB, the world's 2nd largest trade show (after CES) for free (for work). Not that I actually support NAB in any way, I'm there on the free exhibits-only pass. Every year, though, I run into people there with XM badge holders and XM bags, but I've yet to find anyone from XM there. I guess the fact there's 110,000 people there makes a difference, but somehow I always run into the same people I'm trying to avoid, and the goons from the corporation that owned the last TV station I worked at...
Sure last year when I was there you went for a day, but this year you going for 4 days. Have fun!!
Does Sirius or XM have anything coming out , as far as new radios ?
The INNO may be "old" but it is the best unit made by satrad yet. Even Ryan admitted it, and for some reason we care about his opinion.
