We spotted the Bushnell ONIX 400 Weather Tracker back in November, but that was just the feature list - we still didn't have the full details on this device that we've been wanting.

Well here it is, and it's pretty damn exciting.

Bushnell ONIX 400

The Bushnell ONIX 400 Weather Tracker is the first portable, handheld device that offers GPS navigation, live XM Radio reception, and the personalized, real-time XM weather system that XM is unveiling at CES. Consider it as a veritable swiss-army knife of satellite devices.

This is revolutionary because instead of getting weather data for your region, the system isolates your location (down to a "cell") and provides the specific weather data surrounding just you. The ONIX 400 Weather Tracker also tracks the specific weather events along your personal route and final destination. So set your destination and this in-depth weather data will be continuously updated and displayed on the GPS map along that path.

While Bushnell is traditionally an "outdoors" focused company, I can see uses for this device for even the most dedicated urbanite. And with an MSRP price of only $499, this 3-in-1 GPS device will be appealing to even the most price conscious consumer.

Check out a ton of photos showing the different screens on the ONIX 400, after the jump...

Is there a monthly fee?

She's beautiful!!! weep weep... I'm a little verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves

Nice that thing is sweet. XM is finally stepping it up with all the new tech gadgets. Thinking outside the box! Whats Sirius gonna do to differentiate themselves in teh market. Hope they have some things up their sleeves.

OMG. WHEN?!?!?!?! Geez... satellite radio, satellite navigation, and satellite weather all in one. My only question is cost of service. If it's just $30/mo to take advantage of all of that device's features, I'm sold, I'll be banging on the truck door before they unload 'em at the store. Any more than that and one must question whether it's really worth that much per month to take full advantage of that device's capabilities.

MikeV: I believe the expected release date is this February. The only thing I'm unsure of is whether the new "personal weather tracking" is a NEW service on top of XMWX, or is an UPGRADE to XMWX. I'll find out more.

(I tried to sneak into the Innovations booth at the Sands to get a look at it, but got stopped by security. I'm putting on my black ninja suit now, so maybe I can get some in-person shots later tonight.)

I want one! Unless the monthly service charge is stupidly high, I'll have one.

Does it overlay NEXRAD weather radar on the GPS map? If it does, I'll get it.

This device is amazing... Why no MP3/WMA/AAC love, though?

now if they could only have audio/video with a 60GB HD on it...... id shell out a some serious money for that.

My dream gadget PMP:

1. 4.3" widescreen
2. 60 GB min (audio,video)
3. Satellite Radio
4. GPS

I've been using XM radio weather on a PDA like device for a couple years now while flying. It is absolutley awesome. I don't fly without it. It will save your life. http://www.anywheremap.com
I can see a device like this being a great thing to have while camping or on long hikes.

is the antenna integrated???? Or do you have to attach one?

Ryan, Congratulations on the mention of Orbitcast in the latest Motley Fool article.

Tim: The antenna is integrated into the unit. No external stuff needed.

Gaius Obvious: Yes, it overlays weather data on top of the map(s). Truly incredible device, look for more stuff on it shortly.

Can it do all that stuff at the same time, or just one or two tasks at the same time?

Does anyone know the topo map resolution on the GPS?
Thanks!

Does this unit forecast moon phase and fish and game activity? Does it have a barometer? Does it adapt to a 12 volt auto charger?

Will this device be able to plug into my car/motorcycle's system or is it just a head set plug in. Is there a web site where I can look at this units specs?. When (date) and where is it to be sold! Ken
