Class Action Lawsuit filed against XM for outage

XM Satellite RadioA class action lawsuit has been filed against XM Satellite Radio for the outage in service experienced late last month.

The two folks from Alabama who filed for the class action are seeking damages for being charged for the service while it was down. Yet, uhm, XM has already offered credit for the downtime, resulting in an 87-cent refund.

Brilliant.

ROTFLMAO is the NAB paying for their lawyer?

Are these two from of the "League of Rural Voters"?

Let's see....I enjoy the service XM provides. I have been told by my lawyers...uh...I mean...I feel that I have been harmed because the service was down for 23 hours because of technical difficulties. Although XM has offered to compensate for the time it was down (much of it while I was asleep and/or at work), I have been harmed. I am a doucebag.

C'mon, folks!!! What possible damage could there be that making your service provider pay its lawyers to have your stupid suit thrown out. See, that adds to company expenses and eventually leads to increased charges to the subscribers. Smooth move, Exlax...

And the chance that each member of the class will actually get 87 cents? Next to none, after paying the legal fees.

Some lawyers really have nothing better to do...

They have got to be thinkin' BIG BUCKS for this.. let's see... hmmm... 87 cents just doesn't cut it, let's sue for five big ones.. five dollars.. that should break them.. or... a whole month free, they'll never go for that... or.... hmmm.. threaten to leave XM if they don't promise to ever have that happen again... whadaya say bubba.. Billy Bob.. Jim Bob... and Horace Bob atty at laws ociffe....

Class action lawyers are the lowest -- they give the impression that they are helping a class of folks, but for most of these cases (not all), they are using the folks for cash. They always come out better than those in the class being represented.

Leave it to Alabama, ground zero for intellectualism.

I love when news outlets cover stupid stories like this, some people are only looking to get their names in print or have their insane actions reported on... why don't we as a society just ignore the idiots in the world?

How about we sue for Orbitcast being down for an hour that same day. Just kidding Ryan.

Honestly that outage pissed me off more than anything. I'm still fighting it out with my webhost over that one.

maybe its a strategy. It does look bad from teh outside to those who dont subscribe. Why would you pay money for something that could potentially crash. Or yea maybe they are just pathetic.

Gotta love the hayseeds.

Why am I not surprised a story this S-T-U-P-I-D comes from a cesspool like Alabama?
