An example where the merger has helped the consumer. These games weren't available on Sirius last year. Now they are on both services with no additional cost.

Thanks Sirius/XM!

there is an additional cost.....the $5/month for the best xm

Don't worry....someone is bound to complain at some point

Overall, I believe the merger has been positive for XM subscribers, but the bowl coverage has been a major setback. Last year, 30 out of 32 bowl games (94%) were covered. This year, only 25 out of 34 bowl games (74%) are covered, which is a significant decrease. This is one area where Sirius XM dropped the ball (pun intended) as many fans who are going to a bowl game would like the ability to listen to other games. For example, there will be many Big Ten and SEC fans who will be attending the Outback, Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and BCS title game bowls who would like the opportunity to listen to Georgia vs. Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl. Unlike prior years, this option is no longer available. So much for all those "every team, every game" advertisements all over XM's and the SEC's websites.

@ riskybzns-

These aren't on "Best of XM" so there is no additional cost.

Last year Sirius had only about 2 bowl games. This is outstanding. Surprising that the Capitol One Bowl game isn't being covered, but that is about the only exception. Certainly the only big game not being covered. However, if in fact someone is attending the Outback Bowl and wants to listen to the Capitol One Bowl, they can pick that one up on the radio- as its only about 45 mins away.

It appears they're picking up all of the ESPN Radio games. The Navy game on Saturday was from their radio network. Sports USA Radio does the Vegas, Independence and Capital One bowls....so they must not have been able to ink a deal with them this year like XM had last year. Westwood One does the Cotton and Texas bowls, and neither XM or Sirius has had those (those were the 2 XM didn't do last year). They must be picking up the Cotton this year from one of the schools. Some of the games don't have national radio at all.

The Bowl Line Up is a joke. How can anyone say with a straight face that more people want to listen to Buffalo vs UCONN or Troy vs Southern Miss? XM and Sirius getting together is not a good thing for sports fans. We are seeing this when XM does not fight for the teams in the conferences that they air daily. So Maryland, Vandy and Boston College fans should not be able to hear their games after XM airs all of their games during the season! We pay to hear our teams each week and honestly it does not appear that either XM or Sirius cares one bit about it.

So for our subscription each month - we have to have ESPN force their games down the throat of XM & Sirius while these two satellite carriers tell everyone how they broadcast games from these conferences!

You are on the money - last year you could hear every game. Not anymore and Sirius / XM could really care little about it.

This is not what I purchased satellite radio for!

Put on the games from the conferences that you showcase and market!
