Crosley Explorer-1 CR224

There's something deliciously yummy about retro radios. Tivoli makes some very nice units, but in my humble opinion there's something lacking in the design of them - maybe it's the uber-contemporary form factor? Who knows. Either way, I really do dig the old school true retro look, something about it makes me feel warm and cuddly inside.

Anyhoo. Enter the Crosley Explorer 1. A nod to the Explorer I launched by NASA back in 1958 (marking the USA's entrance into the space wars), this unit comes equipped a XM Connect & Play satellite radio receiver, 72 hour battery backup, 60 station presets, a beautiful backlit display and "Aroundsound" to create a surround sound effect.

But retro don't come cheap folks - this baby MSRP's at $399.95. Youch.

Special thanks to Mike @ Beyond XM for the tip!
