I love Dave Matthews Band, and can't wait to give this a listen. I love listening to their songs on Jam_On since they always play the live versions. So much better. I approve of this station for a week.

Good job by SiriusXM. DMB has more then enough fans, and big enough library to support it's own channel.

I just think they need their own channel, not to just take over jam on. If Bruce and Buffet can support a channel, DMB easily can also.

Nice, one week only. I wonder which bands they will do this with? Huge potential spotlighting a band when they release new music. I think this is a great move by sirixm.

Worst band on my favorite channel. Looks like this preset can go unused for the week.

That's the best thing about Sirius-XM...no gimmicks. Good job. Can't wait for the John Mayer channel.

Awesome! Finally a band I care about with a dedicated (although temporary) channel.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Awesome. I love DMB and this is exactly how you do a 1 artist/band channel... one week limited run only and then cut it off..... no need for the BS like with Springstein and Buffet

Great Idea! I have waited a long time for DMB to have their own channel on SXM, if only for a week. How can you be a fan of Jam_On and not a fan of DMB though? Their concerts are amazing!

One week on a channel where they =already= appear is... well, it's not really "right" -- a three-day Fpm/Sa/Su weekend would be a lot closer to a reasonable standard than a full week -- but it's far, far better than what has typically been the case for Artist Channels where a handful of stations have simply been designated as first to go, with no regard whatsoever to any relationship between the lost channel and the genre of the Artist Channel (e.g., Mandatory Metallica vs. The Bridge).

Mind you, the Artist Channel concept is still an abomination except in the tiny sliver of cases where an artist has an enormous catalog and substantial numbers of extremely dedicated fans who can maintain that channel's viability over the course of many years. (The Dead, Elvis, the Stones and Sinatra are the only examples that come quickly to mind.) But, if they =are= to exist, I applaud SXM for what they are doing here in trying to minimize the damage they do.

There is no DMB on XM channel 56 as of 3:00 pm Pacific time on June 1st. I thought this was supposed to start hours ago?????

DMB is a great band and a one week run like this is great. In fact, I’d love to see one of the other dedicated stations such as Margarita Ville or Bruce’s channel dumped in favor of a format like this where they take a week and feature an artist with an upcoming album release. I think that there could be times when it’s hard to find an artist that can pull in a large audience but that’s the beauty of satellite radio. There’s room for niche stations like this and I think that listeners want this kind of option. This just offers an opportunity for great content to be featured and for a lot of creativity. I’d be curious about how many listeners the DMB experiment pulls in. I’ve been listening for a few hours now and love it. I hope someone in the ivory tower is paying attention.

This is an abomination! DMB is the most overrated piece of crap out there, popular with only the lamest prepsters and frat boys who think its "chill" music. It's disrespectful to even call them a "jam band" and this has been one of the most painful weeks of my life. At first I didn't want to believe that this was actually happening- to take Jam On, an amazing station with tons of variety and great music from up-and-coming or lesser known artists (Lotus, Moe, STS9)- bands that actually do improvisational music and bastardize it to play that tool bags pop rock.

My friends and I nearly canceled our subscriptions until we realized this is only for a week but still this is the closest thing to water boarding I've ever endured. I really am at a loss for words, especially while Phish mounts a triumphant return with shows all over the Northeast this week- Jam On should be on the frontlines covering the shows, playing classic setlists not pumping out that drunken bastards college rock. If you want to give that cock gobbler a channel just make a new channel or have a channel devoted to this one week/one artist format- do not destroy a great station for a whole week! Sirius do the right thing...

I will never, EVER understand the appeal of these douche bags. Their music SUCKS, and the people who worship them are all assholes. Get this shit off of Sirius/XM.... PLEASE !!!
