SiriusDavid Frear, CFO and EVP at Sirius Satellite Radio Inc., will speak at the 35th Annual UBS Global Media & Communications Conference in New York, NY - tomorrow, December 4th, 2007 at approximately 2:30pm ET.

It's hard not to read into every tiny piece of info coming from these companies at this point in the game. As a result, I'm sure everyone right now is guessing that an announcement from the DOJ is scheduled for before Frear's presentation. Can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind either.

We are on Day 178 of the FCC's informal 180-day timeclock, and if the DOJ traditionally gives their decision before the FCC... well then, there's not much time left.

You'll be able to tune into a webcast of the presentation here.

hey now

What ? No stories on the return of Don "I won't say nappy headed ho again " Imus ?

Ryan:
LOL LOL. Don't feel bad for reading something into that news release as I did the same thing when I read it. Here is why that is a possibility, i.e., that there will be an announcement. Usually the speakers are set several days in advance and it looks Frear was a last minute addition. The one solid explaination is that DOJ is going to announce and have informed the respective companies. This is one of the most closely watched mergers in recent memory and one of the most hard fought. DOJ probably would give 24 hr notice so that all can be ready for the media onslaught. Frear likely informed UBS that a decision would be forthcoming and was added to speakers list.

Last I read, this was a satellite radio blog.

it also could be that sirius was informed last week with conditions that they had to negociate before an announcement-and they are now finished--Im still feeling bad vibes on this as it could also mean the fcc/doj knows they will be sued so they are getting their case together

No offense, but you all have really gone off the deep end. Haven't you noticed how hard XM and Sirius' PR machines are working lately. Frear's appearance and Mel going on CNBC tomorrow are just more of the same. Believe it or not, DOJ isn't going to give the merger parties any kind of big advance notice.

Hurry up! I'm pissing in my pants. LOL

Yes, this is a satellite radio blog, but Imus is irrelevant.

Hoo Hoo. The suspence is killing me. I just pissed and shit my patent leather pants again.

Maybe I should get my fright wig re-permed.

Hoo Hoo.

The stocks are down a lot today in pre-trading. I hope that's not an indication of something bad.

maybe he's announcing a royalty agreement?

sirius for the 3rd time says that A La Carte programming will not be offered if there is no merger... XM's lipps are sealed. Hummmmmm

NO MERGER.

On a related note, does anybody have a good solution for a hosted timecard system? I need something that can be locked down by IP address (so folks can't login and change time from anywhere) and doesn't cost an arm and a leg (which is why were using a free open source timeclock script ) and is simple and easy to use.
