Deepak Chopra will host a special edition of his weekly Sirius XM show on which (pictured left-right) film producer Lawrence Bender, Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, former CIA Operations Officer Valerie Plame Wilson and President of the Global Security Institute, Jonathan Granoff, join Deepak Chopra (pictured, middle) for a conversation about nuclear proliferation and the importance of a global dialogue.
On this Sirius XM special, Chopra and his panel of guests will offer personal and professional insight and perspective on nuclear warfare, weapons, threats, disarmament and related issues explored in the new documentary Countdown to Zero.
Countdown to Zero traces the history of the atomic bomb, from its origins to the present state of global affairs, including present day threats and insights from international experts and world leaders who advocate total global disarmament. Her Majesty Queen Noor is a founding leader of Global Zero, a worldwide movement that seeks to eliminate both actual and potential stockpiles of nuclear weapons across the globe by year 2030, and serves as an inspiration for the documentary and its message.
Produced by Academy Award-winning producer Lawrence Bender (An Inconvenient Truth, Inglourious Basterds), Countdown to Zero was written and directed by documentarian Lucy Walker (Devil's Playground, Blindsight). The film has sparked an international dialogue since its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
On Deepak Chopra's special edition Sirius XM show The Road to Global Nuclear Disarmament: The Origin, the Evolution and the Future, Chopra and guests continue this important conversation and encourage Sirius XM listeners across the country to take action and get involved.
The Road to Global Nuclear Disarmament will air today, July 22nd from 6 - 7pm ET on Sirius XM Stars (Sirius channel 102, XM channel 155). It will replay again on July 22nd from 7 - 8pm ET and throughout the day on July 24th.
