DirecTV Portable Video Coming to CES
We finally get our first glimpse at the DirecTV's portable video device we've been hearing about, which of course, will be officially announced at CES as well as the "special partnership" for their new mobile content initiative. Between the Digital License filed by XM and DirecTV, the Network LIVE partnership, and all the other signs - it really smells like XM Satellite Radio is this super-special partner. Delphi: Major Satellite Radio Announcement at CES
Delphi released a teaser today that they will be unveiling a major announcement about their satellite radio business at a special media event on January 4th. Speculation abounds about what this could be about and the only clues we have available are what's in the release. Network Live and DirecTV Hookup (and XM likes to watch)
The XM Satellite Radio & DirecTV love-match now is a threesome with Network LIVE (which is, as you'll recall, the joint venture between XM, AOL and AEG). Viewers now have a choice between AOL's online video and a TV (including HD) experience. No deal between Sirius & DirecTV
I've had several readers email me with questions about a rumor that DirecTV and Sirius have a developing relationship. The official word I have received is that there is no deal with DirecTV, but rather only with the NFL.
