Satellite Radio Rebates
If you're a new subscriber and are thinking about buying a satellite radio, now might be the right time because Sirius XM Radio is offering a $30 rebate on qualified radios purchased between now to September 18th.

There's a catch though, the rebate isn't available everywhere.
To qualify for the satellite radio discount, you need to have purchased the satellite radio by 9/18 and have activated it by 9/30 with an "Everything" or "Best of" Sirius XM subscription.

You must also maintain the subscription for 60 days, which isn't that bad at all.

The caveat is that radios purchased at Amazon, Best Buy, Car Max, RadioShack, Sam's Club, Target, and Wal-Mart are not eligible for this promotion. So make sure you buy the satellite radio receiver elsewhere, like at your favorite online retailer.

Online is the only place to get radios. At my local Radio Shack and Wal-Mart,satellite radios are non-existant.

Good move by the company. They really ought to be running some sort of promotion on retail radios essentially all the time. Rebate this one, discount that one, offer six free months of service with a certain deluxe radio, etc.

I think a service credit could be more effective than a rebate, though, because they could give, say, six free months free with a year-long plan (by charging half price for the year plan), ensuring that someone does not just take the free time and then cancel. Plus, it would seem to me that, rather than handing out money, it would be a better business practice to give away free something you're already providing (the satellite signal) since it doesn't cost them any more to send programming to one additional listener (or one million additional listeners).

You are so right xcountry. to charge for an on going signal to be sent is a rip off all the way. this company is operated by thieves. real and abusive thieves. if they do not turn away from wrong doing before they die, their death will be eternal. if they do turn away from stealing, the whole process of repentance will guide them into the right path of life eternal.
