Every SEC team now on XM

XM

XM said today that it will carry games for all 12 Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams, including every SEC football game, starting this fall.

Seven SEC teams are currently heard on XM. But now the five remaining teams - Alabama, Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt - will come aboard XM starting with the fall 2008 football season.

This means that XM is now the satellite radio home for literally every SEC team and a culmination of a process that started in March 2007 when XM became the official satellite radio provider for the conference.

In addition to every SEC football game, XM will carry the majority of SEC men's basketball teams and key baseball and women's basketball games. This includes the SEC championship games in football, basketball, and baseball.

OK.. Again why is this Exclusive Satelitte radio and not "exclusive Audio partner"

both XM and sirius need to get deals like this but be the sole broadcaster of this audio content. (except those grandfathered in)

the old mantra for Sirius was "content is king" the mantra is true, unfourtunatly neither XM or sirius has much that would be considered "Exclusive Audio Partner"

Go DAWGS!

Rammer-jammer-yellow-hammer, give 'em hell, Alabama! Roll tide roll!

Are you serious/Sirius? Do you seriously think that there is any major college sports conference in the nation that would drop its terrestrial radio contracts to be carried exclusively on satellite radio? I love me some sat radio, but COME ON! That would be ridiculous.

"Exclusive audio partner" would be very expensive. But maybe in the future. I must admit, as a Sirius subscriber, I am jealous of all of the SEC on XM. When can I get a radio that gets both of these signals? Come on merger, lets go!

Well now we know what those two missing paychecks funded.

I really hope that once the merger goes through, SIRIUS will have the rights to broadcast these SEC games. Losing the SEC to XM was a big blow... hopefully the "Best of Both" package will take care of this.

I used to occasionally listen to Alabama when they were on Sirius. One of the more entertaining radio crews out there.

I still love how XM is the official home of the Big 12 Conference, yet 10 of the 12 teams are exclusive to Sirius.

cmon guys, we all know that if its on the radio and it ain't howard, that it can't really be any good.

SEC has the hottest chicks

more quality programming from xm radio that Melvin Alan "Mel" Karmazin wants to take away from listeners with his "merge" MONOPOLY scheme.

cmon Nate put a end to it, stop the "merge" scheme and save xm radio from Melvin Alan "Mel" Karmazin.

Exclusive audio partner is ridiculous. It would be far too expensive. But when you add these games to XM, you keep the XM listener on the XM radio, and not turning on another source to listen to what they want.

I am a huge baseball fan and Cal sports fan. Sure, I can hear the A's and Giants on local AM as well as Cal Sports, but instead I leave my XM on and listen to it there. That's the point.

No basketball, no ABBA, no Howard.... we want merger talk... we want merger talk....I'm going to hold my breath til ........I .....di

So now they are carrying the intramural softball league of the Securities and Exchange Commission?

That's at least as cool as an ABBA channel.
