The Federal Communications Commission has decided to fire up the Flux Capacitor today, and has moved their timeclock up an extra day.
Instead of reading as March 13th, the Commission apparently has generated the 1.21 gigawatts necessary, and moved the timeline ahead to March 14th.
Whether or not this is a "sign of things to come" is hardly something I'd want to get into at this point (merger hopefuls are eager for any sign of a decision from government regulators). But if you want to try and read into this, go right ahead.
Follow the jump for a screenshot of the FCC's page showing the date abnormality, preserved for posterity's sake in case it just happens to disappear in the near future...

That's heavy.
Hello, McFly!
Great Scott!!!
I'm no expert on such matters... and it's purely speculation, but I think an approval looms sometime this afternoon. Or maybe Friday. Just a hunch....
At first, I really did not think anything about this other than it was a fluke, but the more I think about it, the more odd it is. This date and day is not changed each day manually. The FCC webpage is sophisticated enough to update the date and number of days automatically. I checked this--no other running timeclock, i.e., has not been stopped, relating to any other action in front of the FCC is wrong. Someone HAD to manually change this date. I know this sounds ridiculous and I admit I have become obsessed with the merger timing, but I think it is possible a staffer or someone with a very subtle and good sense of humor could actually be saying something here.
OK, let the bashing begin, but explain why no other timeclosk has the wrong date or day??
Maybe they forgot it was a leap year . . .
Good point. But the other clocks aren't wrong. Believe me, I am reading way to much into this and I know. Just some fodder for thought.
Not because of leapyear. It was right yesterday
Uhhh, it could just be a mistake?
Awww I see they finallt got you kevin. About time with all the favortism your were showing certain groups that were run by your ex fcc friends and possibly lining your pockets with a little green.
What goes around, comes around. Have fun with the upcoming investigation into your no no's. Time to pay the piper Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this a sign of how low we've sunk in grasping for any straw? We are so desperate for any news we read into everything. It's really gotten pathetic.
I am not getting the least bit excited by any news anymore...unless it comes directly from Mel and the FCC that the merger is APPROVED.
Then and only then will I let myself get excited.
Enough already. :-)
88 MILES PER HOUR!!!
Had to.
It is what it is. A secret message or a glitch. Now about Mr. Martin, it is clear that they want him out. And he knows. I think though he will sign one more big deal before they take him down. It is his last card and he will play it well.
He is not scared or anything like that. It's politics and the other side wants control of the FCC. He knows he has to go and he will leave a gift to consumers called a-la-carte through this deal.

As a web programmer I will tell you this is very interesting... These are automated counters and the only wya for them to stop is for you to disable it and hard code the date as pure text (non-date counter) as you would to record the date to stay the same from this day forward.
Now it would be easy to hook back up like all the others but why would their programmers do what they did without instruction to do so?
I say this is a 80% chance that this was done on purpose (by the programmers) even if it doesn't mean the merger is ready. The date got hard-coded and the timer removed. This takes effort and purposeful thought.
