Sirius Internet RadioSirius is really pushing this two-days of free Sirius, scheduled for October 25th and 26th, having issued a press release listing both days' programming lineup and Howard Stern's guests. The Sirius.com homepage features two slides pushing Sirius Internet Radio.

The jury's still out on whether or not consumers will actually respond to this "Howard Stern Worldwide" event, or that subscribers will actually sign up to an Internet-only service that costs the same as as the regular service. The standard consumer mindset is that anything over the Internet should be provided at a discount (or free).

Either way, check out Stern's guest list and the other Sirius programming that people can hear during this 2-day free event, after the jump...

the whole country of china will be listening.

The whole country of West Virgina will too, as soon as they get their computer.

But Siriusly folks....

There is about 8 billion people in the world and maybe 500,000 million computers ( WAG here ) . What's it going to hurt .... the the money it brings in is FREE, FREE, FREE !!!!

No radio, no costs, just plain old moo-lah.

This might help Siri when Ford goes tits up next year.

Merger...Merger...Merger !

I wonder if the system will crash......

Chicago Bill,

the population of China is 1,306,313,812.

Can't you get all this for free anytime with a 3-day trial?

As I understand it cfg, what they are doing differently is opening the premium service for free instead of the low bandwidth streams. As far as I know, Howard also is not available on the low bandwidth trial streams either.

Saw the commercial a bunch of times during the Norte Dame game and on other channels yesterday as well. It was also a featured ad on the front page of Yahoo. They certainly are promoting the hell out of it.

The problem is that they are focusing solely on Howard for the commercials. It's not just him, as Sirius is highlighting a number of special events those two days. So for people that don't care about Howard (yes, hate to break it to you, but there are plenty of people that aren't fans or never were fans) they may not realize it's not just about him and not tune in. So, Sirius may be taking a gamble by focusing on him, in my opinion.

In China, they cannot Google "tiananmen square" -- I doubt they will get to listen.

I can't wait to hear Howard interview,Pete Townshend!

A FULL PAGE Ad in USA today. That wasn't cheap. NOW I know where Mel's 6.3 million projection came from. Even Pockpie was quivering at the odds of making 1.2 Gross this quarter. Not to worry PP. Mel knew what he was doing all along.

Hey..XM takes one in the booty today losing 4.5 % after the threat of DELISTING. Can't this camp get their feces together ?

a free broadcast to the world, and to think stern is in the spotlight. most famous radio host being used to promote it. that is stupid icepik. who in england knows who jim bruer is? you have to identify with someone. people will get the idea once they start expierencing it.

"Hey..XM takes one in the booty today losing 4.5 % after the threat of DELISTING. Can't this camp get their feces together ?"

Why have I not heard about this threat? Where can it be read about?

I dont think the point of this is to get people overseas to listen to howard.

not that many people in england care about him or would pay to listen.

This is about getting listeners still in the us to try

NEWS FLASH !!! XM takes it in the booty for the second day being down another 4% as of this writing.

The notice regarding Delisting is on Yahoo for XMSR. Go to Yahoo Finance. Type in XMSR and you'll be there.

I don't think that thinking people believe a delisting is possible, but it sure points to a Management structure that is out to lunch.

i am excited to here the quality ofthe channel

I WANT HOWARD

Bubba isn't listed above lol, What an oversite

I really enjoyed the Townsend interview. I thought Robin and Artie handled it well with their delicate talents, and astute sense of sensitivity.

FREE FM OR FREE SIRIUS FOR ME I CHOOSE SIRIUS BEFORE ANYTHING HOWARD STERN IT THE BOMB OF SATELITE RADIO.
NOW I CAN LISTEN TO ALL THE CHANNEL ON MY PC VERY COOL DEAL.SIGN ME ON TODAY.

Howard I am a Firefither in Miami I listen to as many shows as possible.Thank you for all your comments about us it makes us all feel good.Keep well and go foward my man David

Now I remember why I always turned off Howard before. Him and his crew are racist toward Arabs and Muslims. Fuck paying for that ignorant shit. He's not even trying to be funny when he talks about the Middle East. He's just uninformed and hateful. Fuck him.
