Gary Parsons "confident" in merger review

XM chairman Gary Parsons

XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. chairman Gary Parsons said today he is confident that the regulatory review of the merger with Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. is moving forward "in a timely manner."

"We believe that DOJ has the information and feel the FCC has the necessary information to complete their decision-making process and have confidence they will move forward and will complete that in a timely manner," Parsons said at a Bear Stearns conference.

Parsons added that the companies only need the FCC's approval to close the deal, so long as the DOJ has not prohibited the transaction. Still, XM believes both agencies are coordinating their processes and Parsons feels the recently extended May 1st deadline is sufficient.

Now that would be funny a photo of Gary and Mel in a Tub with lots of Bubbles i hope.

Gary Parsons said today he is confident that the regulatory review of the merger with Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. is moving forward "in a timely manner."

Now that has got to be a lie because they had to extend the deal so is has taken much longer than expected.

From what he says it looks like it is the FCC that is to blame not so much the DOJ.

I didn't see "Orbitcast" mentioned on slide 15. What gives?

Oooh, iPaper - very hip! :)

I do not know if the merger goes through or not. Neither do they.
BUT..
IF THIS MERGER GOES THROUGH, THESE STOCKS WILL GET THE HIGHEST JUMP AND VOLUME IN RECENT HISTORY!!
IF THE MERGER DIES, STOCKS GO REALLY DOWN AND SO DOES XM.
Mel can probably make it but it will be slow and hard considering the audio options availiable today.

It would be nice if the stock price went up like it did when Stern announced that he was going with Sirius, but I suspect that it will be more subdued.

This is the dunderhead that supported Panero for years while both he and Panero flew XM into the ground?

Tell me more Gary, I really value your opinion and judgment.

What a Jackass.

Gary Parsons not only can't be trusted, but couldn't find his ass in a dark room, with Both hands as is evident by his management @ XMSR.

You want to listen to him? ... He is discredited.
