2010 FIFA World Cup
The photo you see above is the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg. It's the stadium that'll host the opening match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament between Mexico and host South Africa, which (unless you've been living underneath a rock) starts tomorrow June 11th.

Soccer fans and regular folk alike are buzzing with excitement.over the World Cup. Unfortunately, thanks to the international schedule, there's not much opportunity to watch it live. That's where the beauty of satellite radio comes in.
Sirius XM Radio Inc. will be broadcasting the 2010 FIFA World Cup with full play-by-play coverage on ESPN Radio, plus live news and analysis every day.

XM listeners and Sirius listeners with the "Best of XM" package can hear English language broadcasts of every match in its entirety, plus foreign language broadcasts that will include German, Japanese, Portuguese, Arabic and Korean.

ESPN Radio's English language broadcasts will also be available to Premium Online subscribers online and through Sirius XM Apps on the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android.

Here's the multilingual lineup (Sirius channels are for the "Best of XM" package):
  • English broadcasts - XM channels 236/235, Sirius channels 214/213
  • German broadcasts - XM channel 237, Sirius channel 215
  • Japanese broadcasts - XM channel 238, Sirius channel 216
  • Portuguese broadcasts - XM channel 239, Sirius channel 217

In addition to ESPN Radio's live play-by-play of every game, Sirius XM will offer fans live World Cup news and analysis every day of the tournament.

International soccer legend Giorgio Chinaglia and US Soccer Foundation founding board member Charlie Stillitano will host special World Cup editions of their Sirius XM program, The Football Show, daily throughout the tournament (7pm ET on XM channel 241 and Sirius channel 125).

Chinaglia, a veteran of Italy's 1974 World Cup team, and Stillitano will offer extensive match previews, recaps and interviews with players and managers from around the world.

In addition, Chinaglia and Stillitano will do a daily World Cup report with Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo on Sirius XM's all-sports Mad Dog Radio channel (weekdays at 6:30pm ET on Sirius channel 123 and XM channel 144).

Sirius XM will also broadcast ESPN Radio's World Cup Tonight Soccer Special, hosted by Doug Brown, Chuck Wilson and JP Dellacamera, which will air at 6pm ET daily throughout the tournament (XM channel 120 and 236, Sirius channel 140 and 214 ("Best of XM").

Good to see a new post. To bad its on the most boring thing I could think of.

That banner pic is how I picture all soccer stadiums in the US.

Sirius listeners with best of . Just like Major League Baseball, Sirius listeners get screwed, unless we shell out more .

Was able to watch the last period of England and USA match. Too bad it was a draw. lol Wondering about the next matches results.

God help me, I listened to the Germany-Australia "contest" on 236 this afternoon. Curse you and your meddling website, Saaaaaaaghiiiiiiirrrrrr!!!!! (/echo)

How can a sport end up tie, that makes no sense to me, they should play until their is a winner, maybe that would make this sport more interresting, at least for me.

What's more boring on the radio, soccer, golf or NASCAR?

American Football can end in a tie too. Ask Donavan McNabb. He just learned that last year.

USA will play the runner up of Group D, everyone is alive in this group even Australia
