Greg Maffei, president and CEO of Liberty Media, yesterday joined the board of directors of Sirius XM Radio Inc., according to a recent SEC filing. On the same day, Sirius XM's Principle Accounting Officer notified the company that she will be leaving the company early next month.
Greg Maffei, age 48, has been the President and CEO of Liberty Media Corp. since February 2006 and as the CEO-Elect from November 2005. Prior to Liberty, Maffei served as President and CFO of Oracle Corporation, and was the Chairman and CEO of 360networks. Previously he served as CFO of Microsoft and Chairman of Expedia.
Maffei is also a director of DirecTV Group, Inc. and Electronics Arts, Inc.
Meanwhile, Sirius XM Radio's principal accounting officer, Adrienne Calderone, said she will leave the company in early April 2009.
David Frear, the company's EVP and CFO, will assume the Calderone's responsibilities on an interim basis. Calderone joined Sirius as a Senior VP and Controller back in August 2006.

The job is not yet finished. Mel needs to go. NOW! Sirius-XM is now subscription FM radio. Nothing more. In fact, FM radio sounds better.
come on Mr maffia give sirius a better offer we cant refuse
Mel is next.
This guy is relatively young and he used to work with Microsoft. Hopefully he'll have a clue about what changes need to be made in order to make satellite radio something to be excited about again.
Agreed. I would like to see Jon Zelner go too.
Mel isn't going anywhere.. The stock is going back up. I think O&A will be leaving before Mel does..
SiriusXM documentary, STOCK SHOCK: The Short-Selling of America had a fantastic day of shooting in NYC and is now headed for Philidelphia's 30th Street train station today. Please call if you would like to put in your 2cents (or 40 cents-depending on the stock price!). www.mohr-productions.com 213-446-6334. Note: Tomorrow we are in Boston, MA! Thanks and keep the faith! We're going to $1.00/share!
It's actually "principal", not "principle"
If Mr. Maffei can do for Sirius-Xm, anything close to what's been done with DirecTV, we will have a sure winner.
Betsy, I am so sorry about your son. I heard that he had drown because the counselors weren't paying any attention. They were making love while that poor boy drown.
He was, he wasn't a very good swimmer.
His name was Jason and today is his birthday.
I second the comment that Jon Zellner needs to go.
He has dumbed down the music programming to the point
that it matches his own IQ.
He is to blame for limited playlists and lots of talking and promos
over every single song. Zellner believes this the way to deliver quality
music programming to subscribers.
SiriusFM needs a total change of management.
Let us know when you want us to program the music for you
over there, okay? We won't charge you a dime to do it and
I think us bunch of amateurs can do a far better job than what
you have been doing.
