Howard TV deal gets renewed

Howard SternHoward Stern's deal with In Demand Networks has been extended, allowing the network to carry Howard TV on Demand through the end of 2010, according to FMQB.

Stern will remain with In Demand through the rest of his contract with Sirius Satellite Radio as part of the renewal, and additional programming on Howard TV will also be offered.

New programs joining the lineup include "Beat the Booey," "Wack Pack at the Christys' Farm," "Killers of Comedy on the Road" and "Wack Pack Bowling." Each of the new shows will run from 4-6 episodes and will roll out throughout the rest of the year.

Other planned programming includes the weekly "Best of the Wrap-Up Show" and "Beat of the Year Special 2008," plus some other behind-the-scenes shows.

Howard TV is available to about 24 million viewers.

Not as funny as his old channel 9 stuff. BORRRING

OK, I'm a regular Howard listener and this Howard TV stuff is nonsense, I'd love to see the actual subscription numbers and sometimes Howard gets out of hand with the plugs for this stuff. Callers on the line just to say how great the last episode was, lame.

big howard stern fan but the howard tv stuff sucks.

OK, Ryan. This is news. What about Mel's affirmative statement that he is going to fire executives. Why is that not prominently on the website.

THis is the first newsworthy event that took place since the merger closed (other than the hugely horrible terms Sirius XM agreed to refinance their debt). I'm just wondering since this is supposed to be all things satellite radio.

You can reply if you like or block me - whatever your pleasure.

Orbitcast is slipping. I knew after the merger people wouldn;t come back here.

love Howard but this thing is not worth $14.95/month which is what it is in my area--his guest roster has gone down hill, and after a week, it gets really boring--Personally, the stunt stuff like chicks bowling is really stupid--Howard is still one of the best interviewers, IMO--his take is very unique, and asks the questions no one will ask--That and the goings on with the show's staff are still the best aspects of the show.

There is some great stuff on there, but they should lower the entrance fee--I am happy just watching the free portion on MOJO--where they are practically begging people to sign up--I'd love to know what kind of numbers they're doing. I'd be shocked if it were anything close to a home run.

The real question is will his show be included for free for XM subs--I have a feeling he is lobbying hard for that--He can't stand that he is now virtually irrelevant, and the only thing that could help, is more listeners--If it is offered as an add-on, I sure won;t be paying for it--and it has been shown that the "premium channel" model is not a winner on satellite. The vast majority of die hards are already with Sirius--we'll see--I know it wouldn;t be great for the bottom line to include it, but an add-on charge won't generate huge revenue either.

Why the Executive cuts may be news, we knew this was coming anyway. Any merger gets rid of redundant jobs. Most fans don't care, it's the programing that really counts. I feel sad for the guys that get the axe but that's all part of any merger or transition.

From the comments, I guess this channel sucks, but I would never know- BECAUSE IT ISN'T AVAILABLE HERE. Or nearly anywhere, apparently, if its only available to 24 million.

Honestly, its a shame that Howard couldn't sign a deal with E again. It would be good for Howard and certainly good for Sirius.

I have Howard TV and I love it. Great mix of old and new stuff. Plus, I really love the original specials. I'll be subscribing till 2010!

Ditto to the comment on availability. I've written to both HTV and Directv with no luck. Now that Directv has VOD (though not perfect), Howard needs to pressure them to get it on Satellite. I believe Comcast or cable TV has a huge share in Howard TV rights so I am not optimistic.

Howard getting on XM will be bigger than most realize. Great for the holiday sales. Plus - can't wait for Howard on the Iphone!!

I Want My HowieTV!!!!

Someone's having fun at my expense. *groan*

great news!!!!i can call in every morming for another few years.send me my scripts gary i'll really sell it this time

It won't mean a thing. Anyone who wanted his tired show could have bought Sirius anytime in the past few years.

Howard and his show are as tired as Imus. Howard barely does 4 shows a week any more and the show is borderline unlistenable. Howard is not even close to the quality of his KROCK days when he earned the title of King of all Media. Since he moved to Sirius his show quality has suffered big time and his audience is not even a 1/8th of what it was on terrestrial.

When's O&A Wacky Scavenger Hunt coming to TV?

Is it possible to get the terms 'derivative' and 'drivel' even more happily acquainted?

Then again....it is television...

I love Howard Tv I watch it for a month and cancel it, till they get a bunch more content then I get it for a month or so. Anyone who says Howard has gotten worse since he has come to Sirius isn't a fan, his show is Ten times better now then it ever was on regular radio.I will never go back to fm radio again and Hd radio is a scam.Same Old Lame 29 minutes of advertising and crappy radio disc jockeys.nuff said.

I agree with james d.

Crap-FM has gotten crappier. I can't take any more of those morning zoos with that inane chatter. Howard goes for an hour straight without a break. If KROCK was Howard's Golden Years, then Sirius will become his Platinum Era. There's nothing like an unrestricted wide-open microphone where anybody can say anything they like.

And then there's Bubba, he's the icing on the cake.

I liked Howard better on KRock. I don't really like the TV either. But I still listen to his show now.

I would sign up for "Howard TV" if it came WITH my SIRIUS subscription, or, for a small extra fee {under $5.00) tacked on to my SIRIUS subscription. As I understand it, SIRIUS gets nothing from the "Howard TV" revenue, and is paying Stern over $100 million per year for doing only a 4 day a week radio show. I think I will pass.
