Orbitcast RadioIntroducing Orbitcast Radio, a live internet radio show hosted by your's truly. I've been thinking about doing this for a long time (too long) and finally decided to stop thinking and start doing. So here it is.

The debut episode of Orbitcast Radio will "air" tomorrow (Friday, December 28th) at 1pm ET/10am PT. This show will run for only a 1/2 hour.

Some of the benefits of this format:

  • You can call-in and directly interact, ask questions, and participate (call in number: 646-595-3690)
  • There's a live webchat that lets everyone participate, even if you don't want to call-in
  • If you can't make it, no worries, the shows get archived so you can listen at your leisure

I'm using the opportunity of a slow work week to launch Orbitcast Radio and work out the kinks, so if you get the chance to participate, I would very much appreciate it.

Can the so called Surprise Episode be the "Surprise... There's Still no Merger Episode". I'm sure you would get better viewership/listenership if you added a little contreversy.

Good idea though

I'm done with predictions for now. :)

I thought the prediction was fair and it wasn't a crack at your prediction. It was mainly some sass from a disgruntled member of the public who is disenfranchised with the competency of the DOJ, FCC, etc etc.

My merger prediction date is the day the banks tell the DOJ they have screwed over the average investor enough.

I will be sure to listen! And don't forget to plug the Forums a lot... We need some more participation in there.

I will be there too. I wonder how long it takes AC to call in and go on and on about how great Howard is and how much he dislikes O&A... so much so that he listens every day :-)

You mean I have to miss the first half hour of Mike and the Maddog?! How will I cope!?!

Sorry, it's opposite World Soccer Daily on Sirius 125. I can't listen.

You really should talk to Sirius and XM... I'm sure that they'd accept a navel-gazing show (though it would affect some people's perceptions of the independence of this site).

Does that mean you're now part of satellite radio's competition?

hmmmmmmmmmm wonder how many Ramoooooooooone calls you'll get ;-)

The writer's strike has hit you, too. Friday is the 28th, not the 27th (which was Thursday). Damn greedy writers....

@iband: It was late when I wrote that. :) Ah well, I corrected it. Thanks.

Remember, if you can't listen to the show live, you'll be able to hear an archived version of the show at a later time.

Exciting news Ryan! I wish I could listen live, but since I am at work I will be unable to. Will the show be posted in a specific place? What file type will you post it as? I cannot wait to hear it.

Good idea. I will listen to your archive.

As for your prediction ... if it was going to happen in 2007, it had to be on the day you predicted. I wonder if the DOJ sees some banker (or blogger) make a prediction and then changes the date so they are wrong? :)

Ryan - I tried, but I couldn't hear any of it on the net, so I had to listen by phone. I didn't hear your last comment to me as you were breaking up.

Loved the first show...thanks for taking my call

Great first Show!

everybody knows about my high-pitched voice now.. but it was fun

Realwx - everybody knows about my high-pitched voice now.. but it was fun

Actually I thought your comments were excellent but you did sound like a young kid. I am not sure that what Ryan is doing is such a great idea though. That blog radio practically crashed my computer when I tried to log in and I could hardly hear what he was saying on the phone he was breaking up so bad. Technically it sounded worse than college radio. When I called in I just heard somebody coughing constantly and there was no signal whether you are the next caller or not.

muscle13 - Yeah, well, unfortunately I have the gift that keeps on giving.* It's very inevitable and could sneak up on you in an instant.

Don't know what computer you were on though, I got in fine although it was breaking up when I was online. On the phone, I could hear it clearly. It never crashed for me.
