National Lampoon on XMWell the official word is out from XM Satellite Radio just as we suspected - "National Lampoon Comedy Radio" a 24-hour comedy channel debuting on XM’s programming lineup in October.

With a stable of "comedy jocks" hosting the channel, National Lampoon Comedy Radio (ch 154) will include original programming spanning from stand-up and satirical news and sports segments to parody songs and prank phone calls. The channel also will include character sketches and regular interview features with comedians and celebrities.

According to a blog post on National Lampoon Radio's MySpace page, October 1st will be the launch date.

I wonder how they're gonna label it on the sats. Probably either "Nat'l Lampoon" or "National Lampoon". You lucky Inno users get a picture and hopefully the cover of Christmas Vacation as a background.

"just as we suspected"

The NLR thread on XMFan has been following and building on the story since August 27th. Orbitcast did a speculation post the day before the official announcement.

16 characters (including spaces) is the limit for channel names.

Anonymous Coward: No, Orbitcast reported on what XM Fan had discovered and gave them credit them for that. The speculation post was made in May 2005 when NLR first made the announcement.

What's your point?

I guess "Anonymous Coward"'s point is that he/she is BOTH needlessly negative and unable to read well.

if annon. coward had clicked the link in this post, they would of found out that XMFan.Com was the source of this rumor in the first place.
