Jim Norton to join Jay Leno on NBC?

Jim NortonWill Opie & Anthony Show co-host Jim Norton be joining Jay Leno on NBC? That what the New York Post's Page Six is reporting, with the announcement possibly coming as early as today.
The Post reports that Jay Leno will announce the "correspondents" for his new prime-time NBC show, and Jim Norton will be among them. Norton will reportedly be joined alongside other comics like Mikey Day, Rachael Harris and D.L. Hughley, as well as anchorman Brian Williams.

Leno is scheduled to launch his prime-time talk show, tentatively entitled The Jay Leno Show, which will air weeknights at 10pm ET on NBC, beginning in fall 2009.

Jim Norton has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno several times in the past and is currently "the third mic" on The Opie & Anthony Show on The Virus (Sirius channel 197, XM channel 202).

Good for Jimmy ! I wonder why Leno did not want Artie for this job though , everyone knows he "kills" at whatever he does and Stern has the best talent on the best radio show ever .

Good for Lil' Jimmy. Well deserved!

Sorry, if it came down to Arte or Jimmy, then Jimmy deserves the job. At least I laugh endlessly when listening to Norton on Opie and Anthony. No other comic I know can do brilliant impromptu comedy like Jimmy Norton.

Yay lil yimmy! It's a shame he isn't going to make it through the first season with his "condition". Maybe Jay will give him a big cup of broth instead of water.

Jim

Don't leave us! You're the only talent on this show. Now we're really screwed.

RIP o n a

I'm Ted Sheckler the ghost hunter - I find Ghostesss and run away from them

Hey look o n a were finally mentioned! Woo Hoo!
This is the most publicity those two nimrods have had in the last three months.

Too bad it's to report their show is going to suck even more. I'm sure there's a huge line of people waiting to get on that show.

Anyone from WITSEC want to fade into obscurity? Here's your chance. No one will ever find or hear of you again.

o n a are the BEST!

Wonder how Stern/Artie would spin this. Probably say something like, "Yeah I was asked, but it would have conflicted with my already packed calendar. I mean, buffets are only open so long Howard."

On a more serious note, even with Jimmy on Leno's show, I can't this taking off and lasting too long. I don't know what NBC is thinking having a Late Night style show during prime time.

I don't understand the Artie/Jim comparisons. Leno already stole the Stern equivalent, Shuddering John.

Artie would've never taken this gig. Anyone who listens to the show would know that the whole crew is very loyal to David Letterman.

Hoping, if this is true, that Li'l Jimmy's being used as a "New York correspondent"-type thing, and he won't be chucking either O&A or Red Eye for a gig that doesn't sound like it'll have legs in a town where Norton will never, ever have a chance of "fitting in".

Plus, the whores in L.A. are too skanky even for him.

Who?

Good riddance, maybe now the Opie and Anthony show will get back to being funny without this vile dirtbag trying to make it about him. Get HIV and go away already

"From Opie and Anthony the greatest talk show on satellite radio" Jay Leno from Jimmy's into last time on The Tonight Show.

Its a good move for Lil Jimmy. Load knows how long O&A are going to be on satellite radio.

Jimmy has the most tallent out of them all and could go far working for Leno, although I would love to be a fly on the wall watching him and studdering John working together.

Good Luck Jimmy and Happy Birthday!

Gotta love all the delusional 0.0 fans who think that the unknown Jim Norton was competing against Artie Lange for the gig on the new Leno show to work beside equally unknown fellow "correspondents" Mikey Day and Rachael Harris. Artie wouldn't even do the Leno show when promoting his book which debut at #1 on the NY Times Best Sellers list, or to promote his standup gigs which earn him $80,000 a night (and millions of $$$ per year), while Norton is doing weekends at Chuckles Comedy Shack somewhere in Pennsylvania for a few thousand dollars (if he's lucky). The fact is, unlike with Stuttering John, Leno couldn't afford to hire Artie away from the Stern show, and Artie would never work for Leno if he could afford to hire him.

Artie is funny but who would want to see that fat fuck on tv. Jimmy may be a mush but atleast he and another person could fit on screen at the same time.

I'm happy for the lil Norton boy! He deserves this. He's very talented and I hope he becomes a big star. I def don't want him to leave O&A. They,(O&A), are clearly the best thing on Sat radio and lil Jimmy is a big part of that!

O & A are the best thing on satrad? Did you not take your pills today?

Ol Jimmy can't wait to get the hell out of that show. He'd rather park Leno's car can than waste his career on that talentless hack fest.

Maybe Jim can pull some strings and get the power twins on the show and maybe some desperately needed publicity as no one knows who they are - nor do they care.

This could be a lot of fun for Jimmy. I think Jimmy is funny most of the time but occasionally he's too crude for me...I have to change the channel sometimes!

Anyone hear what will happen to Stuttering John? Will he still be the announcer? Or is he jobless now?

Was a Stern listener for 20 years but I didn't buy a Sirius when he moved. (I tried but the stores were sold out so I said screw it..). I also had listened to Opie and Anthony on their old show. Eventually I bought an XM because most of my friends are singers and XM plays their music more than Sirius. Now I listen to O&A in the morning, I like them. Their interns are boring though - get bored with them. I do wish the channel would replay Ron and Fez at an earlier time than 1 am.

Why do you think they rerun the show that late? It's not exactly a ratings juggernaut. The show stinks since I left.

No one listens and they need to fill some dead air.

On second thought, they should repeat the show 4 or 5 times as there is a lot of dead air on that channel.

According to Jimmy, he's appearing on Jay Leno, not joining him. Lil Jimmy said he was trying to trim down some of his material to fit in the time slot during his appearance.

I'm just saying.

Both shows suck. Now can we stop the constant arguing between the fans?

That said, I enjoy Norton's stand-up, and hope this pans out better for him than Lucky Louie did.

Happy Birfday, Yimmy!

Where are all the "pests"? I guess unless Stern is mentioned none of the drones or wankers who worship o n a even bother. Just proves how irrelevant that show and it's "family" really is.

Hard to get worked up about a pathetic show getting ready to become even worse.

I keep "pests" under control.

Jim Norton is a great choice for this show. He just crushes Artie with real comedic talent. I just hope he can still make time for O&A.

I mean Kevin Smith was Jay's regular "correspondent" on The Tonight Show. It wasn't a full time gig. Plus, you'll see in that article that there are four other "correspondents", including Brian Williams, and I don't think Brian will be leaving NBC news to work full time for Leno, do you? I don't think Jimmy's going to be away from O & A much more than he already is doing standup around the country. That's a cool gig for him! I'm looking forward to it.
