Reports continue to stream in over the "Best of" shenanigans. Indeed, after millions of Sirius subscribers received a channel update this morning, many have reported seeing two XM-related categories showing up.

The first channel category is simply entitled "XM" seen above on a Sirius Starmate 4. The second category is entitled "XM Sports," seen below on a Sirius Starmate Replay.

It seems that not all radios are showing these new categories. Reports have come in that the Stiletto 2 and Sportster 4 aren't showing the XM categories even after the channel update. No one, at this point, is able to receive and hear the XM channels.

EVERYTHING IS GETTING CUT OFF ON THE RIGHT OF MY SCREEN .......... FIX IT DUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you please fix the truncation on your website! I can never read it. Everyday this crap happens. If it happens again i'm gone for good.
Just keep hitting the RELOAD button. It eventually fixes itself
My Sportster 4 went through the channel update but is not showing any XM setting.
according to sirius they told me that it wont be available till the 6th of oct. someone is misleading us..... i have a stilleto 100 as well and got the update but no xm channels....i guess xm was on the ball this morning...sirius didnt even allow me to purchase the best of xm this morning too....i have to wait BOO!!!!!!
Got the update on the Sportster 3 but add it to the list of radios that can't see it....
I was able to add "The best of XM" this morning and am listening to it as I type this. What you get is Oprah, NHL Home Ice, PGA Tour Network, XM Public Radio, The NCAA PBP channels, and the Virus.
Count me as a SL2 subscriber without an XM or XM Sports category.
UPDATE: i called sirius to cancel a radio and the person said that IT IS AVAILABLE! i have xm channels on sirius!!!! the lady earlier is a tool! RON AND FEZ, O&A YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok, i got the update but no showing of xm or xm sports on my starmate replay.
Took awhile but I finally got Best Of XM on my Stiletto 1 (before 3p Eastern time). Ordered it around 1P, just showed up after a complete powerdown and restart.
How do we know that our radios are gonna be able to get the "best of" package? I have a Starmate Replay and it updated, so can I order the XM channels and have them actually work?
Thats what I have and it works.
So, now I am starting to reconsider getting this option. I was just on the Sirius website where it discusses the "Best of XM." For college sports it states as follows- "Games from the top college conferences, including Pac-10, Big 10, Big 12, Big East and ACC."
They just about included every conference but the SEC. The number one football conference in America. XM gets the NFL and Sirius can't even get the SEC?
I guess its possible the web designer just made an error, but that's a pretty big error...And that's just a real shame if they can't offer the SEC on Sirius.
i just learned this about getting the best of xm on the starmate replay. if you have one of the older starmate replays with the stronger fm transmitter, you will not be able to get the best of xm. this may be true with all the receivers that have the stronger fm transmitters.
I just got off the phone with sirius. I have the Starmate replay and they attemped the update to give me xm. It did not work and they said i will need to purchase a newer radio... what BS. I own stock in Sirius and am down 80% in the last year on that investment, and now they are flat our lying on what they can offer.... lets just say i will be cutting my losses and pulling out my cash along with cancelling my service. 20K in stock and they want me to buy a new radio and pay more for additional channels... F this. Good luck everyone, but i have a feeling they will have a chapter 11 in their near future.

Those upset about their radios not getting the additional content, just wait a bit. Customer Service probably doesn't know what they are talking about. This service hasn't even gone "live" yet. My Sportster is still updating channels.
The idea about the radios with stronger FM transmitters not working is just nutty, with all do respect.
well, if its nutty then explain why the one starmate replay with the stronger fm transmitter isn't picking up the xm categories, but the starmate replay with the weaker fm transmitter is picking up the xm. categories
Older sirius radios uncompatible with the new xm add on package
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately many of the very first Sirius 12 volt powered radios released and the foundation of the long term Sirius loyal subscriber base are the ones who will have to do without the Best of XM package. Here is a partial list of radios that wont get the XM channels.
Sportster SP-R1
Sportster Replay SP-TK2 ( first 2 years of release) If you get Hardcore sports 98 on your radio you should be good for the Xm add on (call customer service)
Orbiter SR4000 DISH SR200 BRIX STREAMER
All Audiovox and Jensen plug & play radios
Most Sirius One SV1 radios.
STARMATE ST1 & ST1R
STARMATE ST2 & ST2R & XACT XTR8 Replay ( first 2 years of release) If you get Hardcore sports 98 on your radio you should be good for the Xm add on (call customer service)
Xact XTR1 & XTR2
Xact XTR3 Visor radios
SO here is the way Sirius is slowly retiring the radios they got fined by the FCC for due to the Strong Fm transmitter design that were in these radios.
If you want the Best of XM add on package you have to get a new radio.
Odd thing here is all Xm radios that I know of are compatible with the BEST of Siruis add on package and will NOT require an upgrade whatsoever.
By retiring radios....do you mean selling more new equipment and charging existing customers more $$? Its fairly transparent that is the actual cause. Not saying its a bad idea on their part. I just dont like being on the recieving end.
