SiriusLegendary Cleveland radio disc jockey Larry Morrow has reportedly signed a one-year contract with Sirius Satellite Radio to broadcast live from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, tentatively starting June 19, though that date may be delayed.

The show, unofficially entitled "Coast to Coast With Larry Morrow," will feature music from the mid-'50s to early '60s, as well as feature interviews with artists of the generation. "Coast to Coast With Larry Morrow" will broadcast Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3pm to 7pm on Sirius Gold (ch 5).

A Rock Hall spokesman said he wasn't prepared to confirm the announcement and Sirius has not officially confirmed it either.

Morrow, 69, was inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1995 and was designated "Mr. Cleveland" in 1979 by then-Mayor George Voinovich. He left radio in 2000, but said that he's returning to the air because he missed the audience.

"When you've spent as much time on the air as long as I have," he said, "there's a broadcast anchor attached to your leg."

rkb, obviously Motley Fool has no idea about the relationship between Mel and O&A...

sorry about the link :(
brain fart friday strikes again
.....thanks ryan!

Art Bell's gonna sue the shit out of them.

Art Bell has nothing to do with the trademark. The trademark is actually owned by Premiere, which is Clear Channel. And the exact mark is "Coast To Coast AM"

There are actally several radio programs that use the term "Coast To Coast" in their titles, so it is likely that no one will be suing anyone.

For those who don't know who Larry Morrow is, he got his start on the old CKLW out of Windsor in the early 1960's, which went out all across the Midwest. He went to Cleveland to join the infamous WIXY 1260 in 1966, which became a legendary "rock and roll" station at the time; he and WIXY were one of the jocks that brought the Beatles to Cleveland in 1967. He was known as the Duke of Windsor at CKLW and The Duker at WIXY. He then spent 30 years on the air in Cleveland.

So if you want to get a show on Sirius, it's probably best to change your last name to Morrow...

Larry came from CKLW in the 60's to do mid-days as was among those who worked with Jack Armstrong (WIXY), aka Big Jack on WKYC. Jack, 63, passed into that big Roll N' Roll heaven the Saturday prior to Easter at his home in High Point, N.C and was one of the most widely-known personality DJs in the USA. Several tributes to him have gone up on the Internet from throughout the country. He was a North Caroliina boy who started in radio at 14 and worked at a total of 17 stations, last being WWKB (formerly WKBW), the 50 kw blow torch out of Buffalo. He did his show from his home in High Point, but you could never tell that.
To my knowledge, no one in Cleveland has paid tribute to him. They have on a XM oldies show.
