Liquor Ads Move to Satellite Radio (NY Times)

The New York Times has an article about the famed 2.5 minute commercial by Tanqueray, currently running on Sirius Satellite Radio until November 12th (possibly longer). The song, “Get Your Ice On” is also available online at getyouriceon.com.

It’s an interesting take, and I personally support the concept. I think the unrestricted space that satellite radio provides allows for more creativity by advertisers. We won’t be forced to listen to annoying ads yelling at us because they have to squeeze into a 15-second timeslot. This type of stuff is better for both the listener and the marketer.
