LSU Tigers added to XM's sports line-up
Louisiana State University (LSU) has been added to XM's sports line-up of Southeastern Conference (SEC), starting this fall.
Kicking off with the Tigers' football season opener against Mississippi State on August 30th, XM plans to carry every LSU regular-season football game, the vast majority of LSU basketball games and other LSU athletic teams.
James Carville, the renowned political consultant, LSU alumni and co-host of XM sports talk show "60/20 Sports" called this "a marriage made in heaven."
"My network and my team. It doesn't get any better than that," Carville added.LSU is the latest member of the SEC conference to join XM's roster. Earlier this year, XM announced a 5-year deal with the SEC, but LSU wasn't on the list of schools. That now has changed.

This will up subscriptions in Louisiana dramatically if XM markets this in Louisiana.

I can not tell you how many of my out-of-state relatives and friends are pissed this morning. They've all bought Sirius in the past because its a better deal than paying the insane amount LSU wants for internet broadcasts. Now they all have less than 3 months to buy all-new equipment and service. Anyone who canceled their subscriptions over the O&A bit and still have working equipment to get rid of, I've got at least 15 people looking to buy.

And it wont increase subscriptions in LA at all. The LSU Sports Radio network of stations already blankets the state, some of the Gulf, and parts of Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi.

Great, but what I want to know is when will XM pick up South Central Louisiana State University (SCLSU)?

I've got to disagree with Mtigerv. Adding SEC schools like LSU could be a boon for XM in the Southeast. I know of plenty of customers who chose Sirius or XM strictly because one carried their favorite college sports team. Even if these games were readily available on local radio and TV, theyse customers wanted the one -- XM or Sirius -- that carried their team.
