Anyone else get a new stilletto software update??

I think Mel is a genius for the ages in communications and marketing, but if he blows this merger, I will always wonder why he failed to energize his listeners in a tactfully done campaign. After all, the NAB is throwing both barrels at it and here we sit without a calling , organization or direction.

Here's my answer since Mel doesn't seem to mind being "swiftboated" ...

------

Sent to 55 of my friends and asked them to forward... you do the same eh?

http://www.fcc.gov:80/

Howdy,

As you know I'm both a fan and investor in satellite radio... have been since inception of the technology.

In February 2007, Sirius applied for a merger with XM radio as both of these entities have had tremendous start up costs and a very competitive market competing with ipod, wifi and others. The DOJ approve of this merger in March of 2008. Though the FCC has had this issue for a whopping 456 days, they have failed to rule. This is in part due to the influence that terrestrial radio ( NAB -National Association of Broadcasters) has gone to great length to block this both legally via exparte filings and underhandedly with "political contributions" to various members of Congress including Brownback, Dingle, Leahy, and a host of others hidden in the woodwork. The best Government money can buy as they say .....

To top it all off, Jesse Jackson quickly joined "Georgetown Partners" and petitioned the FCC to "give" up to 20% of Sirius and XM spectrum to them for "minority broadcasting" which most consider a shake down. 8% has been suggested in a concession letter along with ala carte pricing and a 3 year price freeze.

The FCC is in the final stages of determining if this merger will be allowed. If you have a moment, and support this merger, please click on the link above (see the far right of the FCC page for links) above and send an e-mail to Chairman Martin (who finally voiced support of this after 450 days) but mostly Commissioners Tate, Adlestein, McDowell and Copps. It being generally believed that Tate and Adlestein are the swing votes.

Lastly, if you are so inclined, please forward this to 2-3 of your friends and ask them to support Satellite radio and forever wipe out the NAB monopoly and all those commercials.

no disrespect, but is this guy still dead. He's been dying longer than general Framscico Franco. Plus he totally bailed on Imus in his time of need. No loyalty, Let's move on shall we,

I agree- I am sick of the canonization of this guy. He wasn't evil or anything, but enough is enough. Watch his family milk the job for some extra paydays in the ensuing weeks and months. That's the new America, folks. I feel bad for those of you who missed the real one.

Why in the world would it take the FCC 460 days to approve this simple merger? These companies are in sirius trouble. If the don't circulate the justification tomorrow I will be amazed. What in the world, you have got to be kidding.

Maybe James Carville can show xm management how to grow a set so that they tell Melvin Alan "Mel" Karmazin to go piss up a rope. No! "merge" scheme. There are only a few who are Melvin Alan "Mel" Karmazin's bitch and xm is not one of them.

Lastly, if you are so inclined, please forward this to 2-3 of your friends and ask them to call and write their congressmen and women letting them know educated people do not want a "merge" MONOPOLY in the Satellite radio industry. Long live the NAB and FCC.

Why bother writing congress, the NAB has already paid the handful of congresspersons available for purchase on this issue, A better use of people’s time is to write their representative to encourage the FCC to level the royalties playing field. Every media outlet should be happy to pay artist for their work. Testicle radio’s tired old excuse that they further a new artist’s career through exposure has fallen by the wayside as new media distribution outlets supersede them. No one goes to testicle radio to hear new music anymore they only tune in to hear their FAVORITE COMMERCIALS or the same 5 bands every hour. The slump in CD sale is only more proof of the irrelevance of testicle radio to an artist’s bottom line in the era of P2P and ipods. The NAB shouldn’t begrudge the handful of artist they play the money they deserve AND NO, ACCEPTING PAYOLA from a McBand ISN”T THE SAME AS PAYING ROYALTIES to an new unknown artist! P2P networks that steal music are no different from testicle radio they both encourage the free distribution of music without compensation for the artist. What stops someone from recording music off Tradio other than the poor sound quality and the monotonous playlist?

Ther should be an IQ test to comment here.

Or at least a spelling test.

"The slump in CD sale is only more proof of the irrelevance of testicle radio" = WRONG, much like the whole BIAS, uneducated post. Nice try again FEE FM, next time better to have a clue though.

Or a pompous post test.

The first question would be how to spell "There" if you spelled it "Ther" you would be disqualified immediately. Then a small bus would pick you up and take you to school.

It’s (H)ardly (D)ifferent radio that is desperately trolling every unrelated website that its SHILL’s can find to post the same repetitious LAME SHIT! I know repetition is the Model your master at the NAB cling to for broadcast why don’t you run some commercials during your spiel and it will be just a boring as the medium you champion

AC you’re the same RETARDED DOUCHEBAG that thought people bought PS3’s to play Blu-Gay movies and you were WRONG ABOUT THAT TOO!!!
The game attach rate for the PS3 system is comparable to the other systems on the market while the BR movie attach rate is less than one per player!

“As part of a wide-ranging meeting with GameStop's management, Janco Partners' Mike Hickey discussed why the Wii and PS3's 5-game-per-console attach rates are still behind the Xbox 360's 8.8, suggesting that Guitar Hero and a theorized Rock Band release for the Wii will increase high-margin sales for the retailer.”

“However while one Sony spokesperson from SCEE confirmed that Blu-ray was a success, a spokesman for Sony Pictures confirmed that PS3 gamers weren't impressed with the new movie format.
"3.3 millions discs have sold to date with 1.4 million of those this quarter", the spokesman confirmed, suggesting that the pick up rate is less that one per Blu-ray player sold (Sony announced that it has sold 5 million PS3 consoles in Europe).
The comments come just days after the NPD Group retail sales tracking data show sales of Blu-ray standalone players have decreased drastically since the beginning of the year”.

One movie per player!?!?!? That better be one hell of good movie!

Up next on WSUX it’s the same three songs as yesterday WSUX… MUSIC YOU CAN SET YOUR WATCH BY!

Another WRONG, uneducated post. Nice try again FEE FM / BEN DOVER next time better to have a clue before posting.

"Blu-ray is being adopted faster than the DVD format 11 years ago at the same period of its development. This conclusion was made due to the fact that Singulus Technologies has received orders for 21 Blu-ray dual-layer machines only during this year's first quarter, while only 17 DVD machines of this type were made in the same period 11 years ago."

"HD Radio broadcasts are available today to more than 83% of Americans subscription-free.[citation needed] As with traditional AM, FM and TV broadcasting, HD Radio programming is free and supported either by commercial advertising or public broadcasting. Therefore, HD Radio is considered an attractive alternative to satellite radio, which charges a fee for its use."

Those extra orders for industrial burners haven’t translated into a lower disc price for the consumer or greater sales for Blu-Gay movies as a matter of fact the price went up $10 after the format war was “won”. It took BR Two years to release 526 non-selling titles SD DVD had released 4000 titles within it’s first two years with their measly 17 SD burners. SD first title was released in the US March 1997.

by Ralph LaBarge, ebrary, Inc, Inc ebrary - 2001 - Computers - 477 pages
Over 4000000 DVD-Video players were sold in the US market alone during 1999, and remarkably there were almost 4000 DVD titles available by year-end. ...

AC you sorry ass DOUCHE the original argument is whether PS3 Blu-Ray players are used to watch movies and they’re not! Sony’s allegations were put to rest by Sony Pictures

A spokesman for Sony Pictures confirmed that PS3 gamers weren't impressed with the new movie format.
"3.3 millions discs have sold to date with 1.4 million of those this quarter", the spokesman confirmed, suggesting that the pick up rate is less that one per Blu-ray player sold (Sony announced that it has sold 5 million PS3 consoles in Europe).

83% of Americans could eat their own shit too but that ain’t happening either 99.9% of Americans don’t care about HDR or Blu-Gay and the sales numbers prove it.

"0.0 fans are such sheep..if dumb or dumber say something then its law"

yeah, kind of like the whole 0.0 thing huh? hypocritical douche

Everyone's dad dies. Luke just happened to be born on third base, and he thinks he hit a triple. Face it, nepotism does not promote the best, it promotes those who are born into privilege. American Dream! Way to go Luke.
