Megadeth at the XM Performance Theater

Thrash metal gods Megadeth shook the XM Performance Theater on Friday afternoon for the latest episode of the XM series "Artist Confidential."
Lead guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine (right) talked about the evolution of the band, which he formed after leaving Metallica in 1983. Along with being its main songwriter, Mustaine is the only original member of the band.
Megadeth is one of the most successful metal bands of all time, having sold over 20 million albums worldwide, including 5 consecutive platinum albums, and 7 consecutive Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance.
In 2002, Megadeth disbanded after Mustaine suffered a severe nerve injury to his left arm, but following extensive physical therapy, Mustaine reformed the band in 2004.
Megadeth released its eleventh studio album "United Abominations" this past Tuesday. I don't know the airdate for this XM performance, but it will be listed on XM's Artist Confidential page when available.

hope they don't use explict language, or xm will have to censor them

I'm embarrassed to admit I'm a big Dave Mustaine/MD fan. They faded out of popularity here in the US, but still seem to be doing well in other nations. Will have to check out the new album - where's a good review? ;)

I'm a O&A fan/pest and while I can't say I'm happy about the suspension, this is one of the big reasons why I didnt drop XM.
Artists Confidential rocks, I listen to them even when I dont particularly like the music. But an Artists Confidential with Dave Mustaine? Holy shit, count me in. Cant wait for this

> I'm a O&A fan/pest
You're obviously not THAT big of a fan if you've still subscribed. You seriously think this won't be torrented all over the 'net the day after it airs? People can still get their FM O&A, R&F and other favorites without financially supporting the company that has f**ked over one of their top shows.

Aw man.
Now I have to go fish my Roady out of the toilet and apologize to my mom.

According to Eddie Trunk, the CD is VERY good...Haven't had a chance to listen to my copy yet, but other than "Risk" (which wasn't horrible, but not great by any means) Megadeth in my opinion hasn't released a less than stellar CD. The last one, The System Has Failed, was excellent. I imagine after I give United Abominations a listen, I'll have a review posted at my Associated Content page...I admit though, I may be a bit bias...I've met Dave Mustaine a few times and he's always been very cool, and actually graduated from a community college with then-guitarist Marty Friedman's wife, though I didn't know she was Marty's wife until my girlfriend (now wife) mentioned that Dave and Marty had been at the graduation ceremony.

@SteveWeBB
Whether you want to believe it or not, the majority of those on Wackbag still haven't dropped XM. They're lying so they can look cool in the eyes of people like yourself.
I on the otherhand choose to hide behind the anonymity of my computer and will say the truth.
oh. and I really don't see a problem in 'financially supporting' the company that pays O&A's paycheck. That's what TRUE fans do.

Go fuck yourself Steve. Not everybody who has XM got it just for fucking O&A. To some of us, they were a laugh and a part of what we listened to, and they are missed, but some of us are bigger R&F fans, listen to music, Artist Confidential, etc. Shit I didn't even listen to them for the first full year I had XM, and then discovered 202. Sorry if the big deal you are making seems silly to others who will miss them for the 30 days and NOT have to go buy another radio because I smashed it, can take my summer vacation because I didn't blow it on needless rallies to support "the boys" (assuming you have a job), etc.

Thousands have, and why shouldn't we. The whole thing is BS and is giving XM bad press.
> oh. and I really don't see a problem in 'financially supporting' the company that pays O&A's paycheck. That's what TRUE fans do.
So did you support Infiniti Broadcasting when they were paying their salary the years they were off the air?
> Go fuck yourself Steve. Not everybody who has XM got it just for fucking O&A.
Calm the fuck down. I don't expect everyone to cancel, just people who call themselves "real" O&A fans. Heck, it's what they are essentially asking us to do to send a message.
> To some of us, they were a laugh and a part of what we listened to, and they are missed, but some of us are bigger R&F fans, listen to music, Artist Confidential, etc.
Since you don't seem to have the spine to stand up against censorship on an "uncensored" service, I sincerely hope something YOU like on XM gets censored and then maybe you'll understand. Better yet, let it be after the bailout merger some of you morons think will be so great so you HAVE NO CHOICE other than censored XM/Sirius.
BTW, I've been enjoying nealry ALL of the XM content I did while paying, and honestly - slacker.com kicks major ass for music.
All this shows is A: XM doesn't back their shows and B: their management continues to make retarded decisions. Why should I support these PC lying shitbags again? For a handful of shows I can get elsewhere?
