Mel Karmazin featured in CNBC ad spot

Mel Karmazin on CNBCSirius Satellite Radio's CEO Mel Karmazin has recently appeared in a CNBC advertising campaign which features testimonials from various business leaders.

For the satellite radio fanatic, the neat thing is to see the level of brand exposure given to Sirius in the ad spot. If you didn't watch the end of the commercial, you'd think it was a commercial for Sirius - not a CNBC. In fact, most of the shots featured in the ad spot are all from within Sirius' headquarters.

Investors will enjoy the "your report card is your stock price" line as well.

I actually have a media kit from CNBC, both it and MSNBC sell embedded advertising, and I mean really embedded. They basically doa segment around whatever you want to say about yourself. Prices start at around 50K and get broadcast on the network and then on some in-flight programming on planes, though this deal sounds a lot better. I love Sirius, but hate NBC for being so pathetic. Bullshit they're not doing it on NBC too, they just won't make it so transparent there. NBC has tons of interest in online gambling too, a pathetic company.

"Your report card is your stock price"

Then I guess Mel's getting an 'F' right now.

Would have liked it better if he said "and I listen to CNBC wherever I go on Sirius Satellite Radio".

I do not believe that Mel would say what he said in the spot, regarding the report card analogy, if he didnt harbor knowledge of postive events yet to transpire. You would think.
