and so begins the NASCAR Nextel Cup/XM/Toyota relationship. I just hope it was not expensive

Finally explains why the pdf for XMSN had his name in the Tuesday slot

- and so begins the NASCAR Nextel Cup/XM/Toyota relationship. I just hope it was not expensive -

XM is the "primary" sponsor because Toyota has been co-opting the deals to easily attract sponsors. Fantastic of XM to sponsor a make that the majority of Nascar fans dislike extremely. I boycott American companies that sponsor Toyotas in Nascar - so I guess it Sirius or nothing.....

TOYOTA ALL THE WAY FOR THE USA

He'll have lots of time on his hands, not making the races in his Toyota.

- TOYOTA ALL THE WAY FOR THE USA -

! Yes, because nothing says "strong economy" like increasing amounts of foreign owned and operated manufacturing on US soil.

And I'd love to see you try wearing a shirt that says that at a Nascar race. Better bring bodyguards.....

Michael has a horrible radio voice, which can only be described as a lisping train wreck. And he's not funny anymore.

To get in on the Toyota conversation: Who has the only car racing in NASCAR, which is made in America?

If you said Toyota, you are correct. Fusion is made in Mexico, and the Monte Carlo is made in Canada.

- Who has the only car racing in NASCAR, which is made in America? -

First of all, EVERY car actually racing on the track was made in the USA. As for the production models they are supposed to be racing, with the Car of Tomorrow BS they bear absolutely NO resemblance to nor do they share any parts with them. From an aero standpoint there is ONE car in Nascar - and it's to Nascar specs and no one elses.

You are correct that the "final point of assembly" on Toyota's production model is the US, while others are Canada and Mexico. This does not mean they all use parts sourced from said country. Also, Toyota assembling cars here doesn't make them American. They do it because they beat US car import tariffs.

And it's all semantics, because GM and Ford still directly employ far more Americans than other major import makes combined. And Toyota just happens to be using models they assemble here. If they raced the Tacoma, that might be made at their new Mexico plant that they just spent 37 million dollars building.

And finally, that Toyota propaganda you spewed out (that's been repeated ad naseum by the media) isn't even correct. Why? Because Dodge will race their Avenger this year at the COT races, and that is assembled in good 'ol Michigan.

If Nascar is supposed to be carburated, pushrod, V8 RWD American sedans, and Toyota has never in their entire corporate history built or sold that in the US - why would they be allowed to race? GM, Ford and Dodge are the only makes in Nascar actually currently selling V8 RWD cars in the US. But we all know they are hurting financially, while Toyota is rolling in cash - that is the real reason they are in Nascar. They have money, the France family wants it. And because Nascar is so corrupt when it comes to "rules" and favors, Toyota will get the favors and win (make that dominate) in a matter of time or they'll take their money and go elsewhere.

Bottom line, Nascar in is in THREE YEAR overall ratings decline. Merch sales are down, ticket sales are down. Greed and forsaking tradition are ruining the sport.

P.S. - Mikey didn't make the race YET AGAIN! Good thing Jarrett has previously won in an American make so he can use his provisional YET AGAIN. This won't keep up for forever but it's fun while it lasts.

CVFL (Central Valley Football League) football season has begun. The league contains 16 teams from all around central valley. The regular season games begin on March 1st., so all the league teams are prepearing and practicing hard. The Delano Knights, which i play for, will be playing a scrimmage game against the Kern Valley Aztecs on February 15. The Delano Knights didnt do very good last season, but this season we have gotten much stronger and more skillful, and the coaches are a big part of it. Well if...
