More executives have been announced for Sirius XM Radio Inc., only this time the team is coming solely from the former Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.In prior executive moves, we saw the majority coming from Sirius, with a handful from XM being sprinkled in for flavor. In this announcement, they all come from Sirius.
The three executive promotions are:
- Martin Lee (Senior VP of Marketing)
- Patrick Reilly (Senior VP of Communications)
- Ross Zapin (VP/GM of promotions and events marketing)

I knew that was gonna' happen. If they start programming XM like Sirius I WILL cancel.I'm not gonna pay for Hits only programming.
Rodney Russell; Go get an ipod and enjoy making your own playlists.
Why didn't they just call this a buyout? This corporate crap really pisses me off.
Sure hope these people and the rest of the management team start working and offer more than trash radio like:
Jamie Foxx's Sirius show goes to the DNC
XM POTUS '08 2009 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid at DNC in Denver
Bam Margera's Labor Day barbeque on Sirius Faction
Spotted: POTUS '08 at the DNC in Denver
In case management forgot this is satellite radio, people pay for programming, content and talent. Who thought Jamie Foxx going to the DNC with a bunch of women dressed in bikini's makes for good radio or is even appropriate? 2009 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid at DNC with a logo from the old company which doesn't exist anymore? Bam and his friends at a BBQ? A bunch of hacks covering the DNC? This crap is community/college radio at best, SiriusXM needs to do much better. SiriusXM claims it wants to be number one in radio media but image, content, programming, talent certainly doesn't show it.
What happened to following pre-merger press releases?

the mighty horse rocks he rocks a fat ass
I Agree!! This "merger" has seems to be all about Sirius taking over the market to this point. If they end up cutting the XM Country music channels, that are WAY better than Sirius', I will heavily re-think my subscription. I have talked with different people and they have the same sentiment about their favorite channels. Sirius is all about the Hits where XM goes off the beaten path to play something that you might not hear anywhere else. Just wait, in 5 years when we are all forced to switch receivers, all of the XM subscribers will have to buy new ones and the Sirius people won't have to. I think when that day comes, everyone should have to buy new receivers!!
Well, from what I've seen, they are looking at XM's music efforts. Mel's interview seems to show he's sensitive to what works regardless of what company it is. He also seems to dislike some of the Sirius Extravagence (mentioning the studios Sirius leased are expensive and somewhat based on vanity).
I'm not surprised Sirius is the ruler of those VPs. Sirius seemed to market their stuff better to retail--they had the market buzz where XM sort of was kind of blah--and I say that as an XM fan. They had a lot of trouble marketing their service well.
And XM does have the better sattelite technology, so I doubt they will give that up.
Ross Zapin is an excellent choice for the VP/GM Promotions and Event Marketing. He comes from the concert business and the record promotion industry. Plus he's a close friend of Howard which can't hurt.
Ross ... howareya!?!??!
