Wille Nelson and Kenny Chesney at Farm Aid 2008Farm Aid 2009 - an annual event that raises funds to keep farm families on their land - will be broadcast live on today, October 4th at 2pm in St. Louis on Willie Nelson's Willie's Place channel (Sirius channel 64 and XM channel 13).

The lineup will include:

Metropolitan OperaSirius XM's Metropolitan Opera Radio will celebrate the launch of the 2009-2010 season, and its fourth season on satellite radio, with a live broadcast of the Met's Opening Night Gala, a new production premiere of Puccini's Tosca, starring soprano Karita Mattila. The fourth season on Sirius XM Radio will ]include over 100 live performancess.

The live broadcast will begin at 6pm ET tonight with a special pre-show that will feature backstage interviews and updates from the red carpet, and a preview of the upcoming season on the Metropolitan Opera Radio channel (Sirius channel 78 and XM channel 79).

Mary TraversSirius XM's The Village is paying tribute to Mary Travers of the legendary trio Peter, Paul & Mary, who passed away on September 16, 2009. Travers passed away in a Connecticut hospital after battling leukemia for several years. She was 72.

The channel is airing a special edition of its "Songs for Aging Children" program featuring interviews with Peter, Paul & Mary, hosted by Robert Aubrey Davis and Martin Goldsmith.
