The National Association of Broadcasters spent a whopping $2.5 million in lobbying in the first quarter, according to a disclosure filed with the House clerk's office.Obviously it wasn't all for opposing the proposed merger of Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.with rival XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. The NAB also lobbied on the transition to digital television, fighting "whitespaces" use for high-speed wireless internet service, media ownership, and other issues.
Speaking of lobbying, musicFIRST this week sent some musical "gifts" to NAB president David Rehr via iTunes. They include:
- Tuesday: "Take the Money and Run," Steve Miller Band
- Wednesday: "Pay Me My Money Down," Bruce Springsteen
- Thursday: "Back in the U.S.S.R.," Paul McCartney
- Friday: "A Change Would Do You Good," Sheryl Crow

Ryan,
How much have xm and sirius each spent in Q1 lobbying?
Lets remember NAB represents more than 8,300 free local television and radio stations.
There's still room in here
Martin you jackass approve this so we can stop seeing this dip shit Rehr- The NAB is useless and only looks out for itself!
more mature, helpful comments way to go! way to keep orbitcast relevant NOT!
Put some Martin glasses on him so we can all have a good laugh.
This beadie eyed bastards face is downright disturbing! I want to vomit every time I hear about the NAB or look at this guys creepy picture. Hey NAB, take some of your millions you are spending to kill the merger and get this freak a facelift!

This DOUCHEBAG looks just like Buster Poindexter (aka David Johansen)
http://tralfaz-archives.com/coverart/P/poindexter_in.jpg
I think there is a picture of Johansen sucking a dildo in drag from back when he was in the New York Dolls someone needs to find that picture and mail it to Rehr’s wife.
Is his name david johansen or buster poindexter, I remember him from movies, and probable would know his music, but damn the resemblance is crazy. It took me awhile to remember johansens name.
I will be up all night after seeing that face.
Will you people please look at this clown. Same stupid picture a few weeks ago. What a dildo!!!
Buster Poindexter was the stage name of a lounge lizard character Johansen played back in the mid to late 1980’s.
Here’s a photo from Johansen’s New York Dolls days he is the chick in the middle.

XM Spent $1.2 Million Lobbying for Merger, just in 2007
http://bearingdriftohio.blogspot.com/2008/02/xm-spent-12-million-lobbying-for-merger.html
So 2007 1.4 Sirius + 1.2 xm lobbying money = 2.6M spent by Sirius and xm 2007 lobbying. These two are desperate for "merge" MONOPOLY then soon after bankruptcy.
